I went on a Ketogenic diet about 2 years ago. I started low carb and eventually went to full Keto. I did OMAD at the same time and lost 120lbs. When I started, I began to put a whole avocado into my daily salad. I didn't even like them at the time, but I knew they were healthy and a healthy olive oil based vinaigrette made them tolerable to me. NOW?? I can't eat a salad without one. I absolutely love them and my body craves them. My potassium and magnesium levels are High/Normal in my bloodwork and I feel great.

Yes! This video shows how nutritionists and doctors know so little about how our body works! It’s depressing! This study was totally stupid because people were eating what they usually eat, instead of putting them on a keto diet, both groups, but one with avocado and the other not… or reducing meals a day, like only 2 meals a day, and they’d have seen both groups lose weight and still check the micro biome and other benefits; the patients would have lost weight and I bet you that the avocado group would either have lost more or at least have the healthier group. What I’m trying to say, the issue is not the avocado, the problem is the combination of avocado with things that it should not be mixed, what makes us and healthy is not fat, natural fats, what is unhealthy is to mix the natural fats with grains, which turn into sugar in our body. What makes us unhealthy is the sad we produce in our bodies due to bad nutrition, high carbs it’s not the natural fats we can eat, and if we eat them with healthy things like dark leaf lettuces and rúcula, cucumbers and radishes, etc.. We can have a healthy diet with avocado and all the rich benefits and not gain weight. No, that’s a proper study to make!

weight isnt the only issue...thats the point im making...im slim as a whip and yet those fats were building up in my arteries.. very dangerous over time thats all im saying no long living culture ate large amts of fats each day....avocadoes. nuts even when i eat absolutely NO overt fats, cronometer shows me i get the ideal amt of about 12-15% of my diet from plant fats. .ie its coming from all the veggies i eat.. the greens...the starches etc people on the typical american diet with the typical american heart disease get about 30-35% fat and its going to kill them if it hasnt already all I'm saying is...if i ate 1-2 avocadoes a day as you or the other person is...along with nuts....how much fat is that in total 🙄... healthy or unhealthy fats...that'd bring you right up there, alongside those on the SAD diet....thats why Dr Esselstyn says..NO! I am not advocating a vegan diet as many of them are still dying on the operating table due to their excessive fat consumption from avocadoes nuts coconuts and oils

I was happy to hear all this info on avocados. Last month I had cut down on added oils because they were starting to cause an upset stomach and nausea, and replaced them with avocados - which cause no symptoms. Good to know that avocados have all sorts of benefits, even though they are high in fat. I have a quarter or half an avocado a day, and this seems to work well - I get no symptoms from having avocadoes and raw nuts. The info on this video reassured me that I have made the right choice in replacing most of my oil intake with avocadoes. The extra fibre is a bonus! And the info about the leaky gut could explain why avocadoes have helped in reversing the symptoms caused by using refined oils. All this info shows once again that whole, unrefined and unprocessed foods are the way to go for maximum health.

I more often than not eat an avocado a day. Cheap ones usually from Aldi's ... they vary a lot and sometimes I have to let them ripen, sometimes the pits are big some are just right. I just cut them in half, remove the pit, add seasoning and scoop and eat. I love them this way. The rines and pits go to the compost pile.

You’re right. This study was not well done. The reason why they gained weight was because they maintained their regular diets with junk and a lot of carbs. If both groups have been given a ketogenic diet, but only one group had avocado a day, and the other one, just a little sometimes or not, they would have come to the same conclusion that the avocados are great for the micro biome all of the patients would have lost weight, not just in spite of the avocado, but because of the contribution of the avocados and the group without avocado, would have lost some weight, but perhaps not so rich Microbiome and also, for example, more wrinkled, less great skin, and other observations could have been made. Their diet should have been something controlled , or for example, they should have been told to have one less Miller day. The problem is not avocados. The problem is to mix avocados with carbs because we cannot mix fat with carbs without the consequences of weight gain. . And she speaks of oil does he stay are all the same and they are not our body can’t do very well with about 3 ounces of olive oil, extra-virgin a day, almond and castor oils are also very good for health and actually necessary, and it should have been made a point that all vegetable oils are absolutely horrible! With the exception of the ones I mention, and a few others like grapeseed oil and sunflower seed oil if absolutely pure. Fat is not a problem for the human being. Carbs and sugars are the problem. Well they are the same thing and they make us produce our fat. It is our fat what’s bad, not exterior, healthy, natural fats … I don’t have any problem with weight gain, no matter how much fat I eat and actually my skin is much younger than most people my age because I don’t worry about fat intake, because not only I have the best kinds of fat I only eat two meals a day and those kind of things are not discussed at all in the video, and taken in consideration in the study…

There is a Mexican food chain near me that I learned would add sour cream from dairy to the guacamole to make it more appealing to the SAD diet eaters even though sour cream is not part of the authentic recipe. I called them out on it with an email. At some point they ended this practice. I am not saying it is because of me but maybe they got a lot of push back on it because people were going there to eat healthier.

These days many restaurants and fast food placed provide details of food ingredients on request or publish them on their websites so people with allergies can check out the foods. That practice also presumably offers some protection against lawsuits.

Carbs are the worst kind of energy and once your metabolism changes for any reason like loss of physical activity or age or pregnancy it just carbs just turn into fat. Natural fats are not only needed and great for our health, but they are a much better source of energy! Far more nutritious and complete as well! It’s not natural fats will hurt us it’s the production of our own fats from carbs that which kills us…

In my 30s, as this experiment continues, I now look and feel better than most people in their 20s with no signs of aging, including crows feet, or wrinkles. When I told someone my age they immediately thought I was lieing to get a older womans attention until I showed them my ID. They were shocked an attituded it to superb genetics instead of healthy eating but if u start early an stop with the mass consumption way of eating or using food as a reward, illness and aging will seem abitry to what we are told as kids.😊

Just eat much larger portions of dense food. Trying to count calories is too stressful. When you start gaining weight, you'll know you're eating enough. I would HIGHLY recommend some weight training too. You need muscle mass and not just fat. Here is a calculator, though, if it'll help you. www.checkyourhealth.org/eat-healthy/cal_calculator.php I'm tiny at about 90 lbs. and 84 lbs. is concerning unless you are very short.

Avocadoes are low in sugar. So they are a fruit that can help to control blood sugar. Yet, they are high in oxalates and salicylates. If one is sensitive to either, it is best to avoid avocadoes. Eat an avocado on an empty stomach and allow at least 1 hour for that avocado to digest out of the stomach. Then ask yourself "How did that avocado make me feel?" Your body will guide you if you carefully listen. If you are still undecided about avocadoes being or not being a part of your diet, ask God what He wants you to do regarding them being in or not being in your diet.

I love avocado & do have at least one every day. They don’t make me gain weight, but they don’t help me lose it either. And I do need to lose quite a bit. I can only lose when I consume NO fat at all & radically restrict calories. The more fat I consume, the worse my insulin resistance. I do think with ‘leaky gut’ that collagen may be lacking. Collagen is the ‘scaffolding’ within the body and vital for structural integrity, including that of the gut.

@@Aryan.Goddess no I don’t. I’ve already done the Low Carb, High Fat thing - for more than 8 years - and I actually GAINED even more weight! Believe me, I tried every way to make it work - even going Zero Carb for a while at one point - but the more fat-saturated my body became, the worse my insulin resistance & in the end not only did my insulin resistance go into orbit, & not even injected insulin would get it down to normal range, but my digestion also refused to digest meat any more. I had no option but to go plant-based. I juiced for the first month to give my poor beleaguered digestion a break, then transitioned to vegetables & fruits. Within 5 weeks my blood sugar dropped, my insulin sensitivity returned & I had to radically cut my insulin intake by more than half. My body can no longer process the fats because my lymphatic system is so clogged & congested. Any fat I consume increases my insulin resistance. On Keto not even 50+ units of insulin per day was lowering my blood sugar. On very low/no fat wholefood plant-based I only need 20 units of insulin or even less per day.

Strange how such a normal vegetable when "discovered" by the western world (US) gets so much attention. Grew up eating avocado, normal addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Once it was in season you ate avocado. From a neighbour's tree, from the market, everywhere. Now everyone is "promoting" the health benefits of avocado. So of course if you have to buy and not pick, the price will go up. Wonder how much people are paying for this now? The information is good though.

I often eat two advocados a day, often combined or eaten with bacon from the farmers market. But it varies. This week my advocado intake has been much more minimal. Most days I do intermittent fasting in a two meal plan, though changing it up some days to one or three meals. Since changing my diet last year (less carbs, more vegetables, less sweet fruit and sugar, using apple cider vinegar, etc) and using intermittent fasting, I have lost over 30 pounds. It seems that my weight loss may have plateaued at this time. I'm at a point now that I want to lose more of my gut, but how do I do that without looking thinner in my face? Do I have to look uglier in the face to get rid of all my gut?

Depends on how old we are and what we have been eating most of our lives. When we are old enough and have been eating the SAD (standard American Diet) way all our lives, though by changing our ways our arteries become younger the resulting weight loss will most always make our faces show our age BIG TIME. Of course the benefit will be that we are healthier and live longer. The down side is that unless we can afford a face lift or two we will look scarier to our grand kids.

Unless you include fasting. Which induces autophagy. But also think of it like treating acne. You begin taking care of your skin and use products. Most likely your acne will worsen, as a result of clearing. Same with the face as you clean your health up more. It most likely will make your face thinner cleaning up more, but it should eventually adjust slightly to not have a sunken face, provided you exercise (with some form of weight training) and gradually change your diet from weigh loss to weight management.

Look into Dr Berg’s suggestions… IF is one key answer, make your meals not too far apart. Only 1-2 a day. He covers weight plateaus… there’s something wrong that you’re still doing, I don’t know if it’s that you still have carbs or too much fruit or not long enough intermittent fasting… I don’t know, but it seems you learned a lot that you are capable of changing your life and seizing control over it, I don’t think that this video is very good, and I don’t think that the study was appropriately done… Dr. Gundry is also a good resource .

There may not be much that can be done with a latex food allergy. However, I used to be allergic to a large number of foods, and what helped was a course of multivitamins and digestive enzymes, along with avoiding those foods for a long time - years in some cases. This helped so much that these days I hardly get a reaction to any food - and nothing as severe as before. I suspect insufficient micronutrients has a large role in allergies, so it's important to eat more whole foods and cut out junk foods. Given that inflammation is so often associated with allergies, it may help to go on a diet low in inflammation-causing foods - that means avoiding red meats, probably most processed foods, for starters. A diet high in fruit and vegs helps, as does limiting gluten grains and substituting with rice or millet. As for the avocados, avoid them for months, test again. If there's a reaction, avoid them for a year at least, and try again. If that still causes a reaction, bite the bullet and accept that your particular body chemistry doesn't like avocados. You can still get healthy fats from olives, and raw nuts and seeds.
