Coming back to this because I just heard the reference to this in "The cards you hold" off the new album and it hit me with a wave of nostalgia and some tears. Its great seeing that aviators is still remembering his roots with old music and brings it back in subtle ways while reinventing his style.

This . . . if my memory serves, was the very first Brony song I ever listened to. It's not the one that convinced me to watch the show, that would be Lullaby For A Princess, but . . . if I hadn't listened to this one, and Aviators' Sweet Dreams before it, I would never have gotten Lullaby in my recommended. Even after all these years, or maybe because of them, Aviators still is something entirely different from the rest of the music brony fandom ever created. It's not just the nostalgia that shrouds these beautiful songs, it's something of a genre that no other artist seems to really touch upon. I'm not sure how to describe it beyond telling you to listen to it, but I'm glad that it exists, and that I can still listen to it anytime I want.

10 years... I still remember what this inspired in me.

Funny that was the opposite for me, came here for the (old by now) brony songs and then discovered the worlds of Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

Yes but you have to let this go. The fandom is no longer the place it was,and he has washed his hands clean of it for good reasons.

this song has gotten me through times of need. The line "i know youve been misused and your probably confused" hits me hard and makes me believe everything going to be alright and than someone will always be there. So thank you so much Aviators for bringing songs like this for people like me. It helps regulate feelings that allow me to function properly. Thank you very much. I hope your life goes very well!!

This song is really AMAZING. It has the touch of emotion that we look for in songs, and a symbolic meaning behind the lyrics. We can relate to the song and that's what makes it so much more real.

7 years ago I found this song and it was one of my favorite songs. Coming back to it every now and again as an adult and holy shit, it's still just as amazing as I remember. This was a huge part of my childhood... Thank you so much Aviator for your beautiful music.

This is is something i never thought I'd see an awesome artist of music from the origins of this very franchise, this is the proof gen 4 mlp was something special.

This song could also be used for the cutie re-mark, especially the lyric "This twisted future isn't right."

I use to use this while reading many MANY scenes in fallout equestria and project horizens in the day. The song fits perfectly when it gets to the pinkie pie stuff.

this song was on a random spotify playlist that i was listening to at work and didnt know it was mlp until i got home, Had mixed emotions but still be jamming out to the song, just so mellow. and chill also 3 years later a comment xD

This one was the song where I met Aviators for the first time... It's been so long, and I still love his songs. However, despite "Masks" being one of my favorite newer songs, these older songs like "Fear of Flight", "Spirit of Chaos", "One last letter", "Someone like me" or "Frienship" are the best. I´m not a Brony anymore, but these MLP songs were simply too beautiful... I wish I could go back in time, to where I still was excited to see more about the show, their characters... Somehow I lost interest on that as time passed by. But hearing those tracks again, fills me with so much feelings that I wanna be young again. My favorite of all time is "Someone Like Me", but "Open your Eyes" has a special place on my heart, cause it led me to know this great musician. I can truly say that Aviators is special to me. Hope someday he will give us, a old fandom, some love, as a goodbye. Im not ready to let those times, better times, go away...

... Pitch this to an actual music station, while hiding that it's a brony song. That way we might get an international smash... and then the secret can be sprung in the best way possible. When the mindless masses then go to youtube to watch the music video and all they'll get is just a face full of Love and Tolerance.

If you don't get it this is from the episode where the mane 6 got all their elements of harmony and cutie marks switched around and I'm guessing whenever he says "open your eyes" he's referring to when they opened their eyes wide when they remembered who they really were and had their life flash in their eyes.

This kind of thing is what got me into MLP. Loving the fanwork slowly caused me to wonder why so many people enjoyed the show enough to make such wonderful things.

i've never been into this show but i'll always admire how creative and skilled the fans are and the great fan content they make

One of the most powerful songs I've ever heard (and I'm talking about Music in general, not just brony music). The song conveys such a warm and caring feeling, yet it shows in an energetic way that Twilight would do everything to help her friends. This strong message of true friendship really made my day. I've discovered "Open Your Eyes" this morning and I'm uplifted and inspired since. Absolutely beautiful! (Usually I'm not that cheesy, believe me! O.O)

It sounds like boulevard of broken dreams

My brain just popped this song up and all I could remember at first was a bit of the melody and "I'm here to show the world to you".... Searching that line was giving me a wrestler's theme. Thought the line was "come with me and see the truth" as details started popping in.... So glad I found this
