Avalon King Armor Shield IX Update after 15 Months Review

15 months ago, I applied Avalon King Armor Shield IX ceramic coating to my black Mustang.

In the original video, I showed how to apply the ceramic coating. but first I had to clay bar the entire car and do a paint correction to remove years of swirl marks.
Ceramic coating adds a protective layer over the paint, but it does not fill or hide things like scratches or swirl marks, so those need to be removed first. That was really the majority of the time and labor I had in this project. The actual application of the Armor Shield IX only took a little over an hour from start to finish.
Today we'll see how the ceramic coating is performing 15 months later. I'll update again in 2024!

Cool to see still you have the SN95 after all this time. I remember watching side exhaust videos of this car years ago.

Wow, yeah that was probably one of my first uploads in the late 2000's. The car doesn't get much action on the channel but I love driving it in the summer time.

I wonder if that means the coating is starting to wear off... less beading so it's starting to shed the water more.

I used Avalon ceramic coating in two of my cars and what a disappointment. Didn't last any more that any regular wax. I guess if is a car not that is not driven often regularly it will last.

Thanks for the feedback. Have you use any other diy ceramic coatings and if so, which ones would you recommend?
