Clear and useful fitting and the side by side comparisons spot on. WIN If the infotainment sound disappears don't panic. Hold the on/off button down for 10 seconds or until reset occurs or turn off the ignition and remove the key.

Our tip is use a zip up bag for your duvet (we got one from Johnson’s Dry Cleaners) and one each for your pillows. Ours have dropped out of the boot when we opened it and we were so glad it was covered.

WIN. Tip T6.1 have a rear adjustable lift up back support for the bed. There is a strap to release the ratchet mechanism. But if you are in your van after waking up ( not dressed for outside venture) you need a second strap attached to the black roller bearing to hold the lifted panel in position as you release the ratchet strap. Simple 15 mm red nylon strap 30 cms long works well. Great video surprised to see how easy the install was and how great the led bulbs worked.

Win - Another great video, thank you. My best tip is to always travel light. Once packed, go back and remove what you don’t really need.

Win. Top tip…. We all know that Cali’s are well sort after by thieves, if you don’t want to use a steering wheel lock, just turn your drivers seat round when you park it up on the drive or in a car park and it’s unlikely any swag bag baddie will try and steel your wheels!

WIN - One for the coming summer months - When considering "fly netting" for the side door/windows make sure it is at least 600 holes per square inch (30x20 is typical) as midges will simply pass through anything less.

TOP tip! Nobody likes midges !!

WIN - Our tip is to have a natural goose down duvet they are more expensive but half the weight and can pack down really small. We purchased a sleeping bag style stuff sack and just shove it in. A king size duvet fits in a moderate single sleeping bag sack. They are also better at regulating so even the high togs can be used on all but the hottest days.

Thanks for that. Bloody tricky with 20" wheels on!! I also thought the new leds didn't work with the cornering feature, until I realised they only come on when dipped beam is on! Doh!

Ahh yes, 20” wheels, lowered etc etc, will all make a big difference. Looks cool though!

Win... Great Vlog and lights too Will.. Top Tip.. Use Fabsil Gold spray on your pop top every six months and it will never ever leak 😉

WIN. Good video as usual Will. Demonstrates a significant fog light improvement IMO. To reduce payload on long journeys (and maybe improve MPG slightly) don’t travel with full fresh and waste water tanks.

WIN - thanks Will I’d never have thought of this, but when driving/turning slowly I see the yellow fogs come on to Illuminate the parking space. Odd colour, but I have been told yellow light gives better visibility in fog…I wonder if that is true? Anyway, my top tip is before you leave home, to freeze food/drink you don’t need for a day or two to give your fridge a helping hand. Thanks

WIN - Great video, fiddly job nicely explained. My tip would be to take an itemised list of what you take with you then strike off what you haven't used when you get home. Helps to keep packing and weight of van to a minimum ensuring less fuss and a bit of a help with mpg.

WIN get you van delivered before the accessories, I don’t have any more room in the garage! More helpful, if you buy a new tent, check the camp beds fit before you go, otherwise it’s not a comfortable night on the floor!

WIN Great video don`t know why they didn`t fit them from the factory, Top tip before you leave on a trip, Go on a 1/2 hour drive to find and removed all the annoying little squeaks and rattles.

WIN Great video, leaps and bounds over other Presenters, always useful and interesting to watch , treating your viewers with how you would want to be treated , no ego and just the right amount of humour..you both come across very naturally with a compassion for your cali without treating people like idiots. My tip... back on the toilet theme, use facilities and you that midnight wee requirement buy a nappy bucket with a lid, you can sit on, hygienic and you can carry to dispose on..best of all, they are under a £10 on eBay. We use it on board out little boat too 👍🏻Ian

WIN - Cracking content as always. My top tip isn't for everyone, but I'd recommend using a projector such as the Nebula Max over any other kind of tv or pad for watching a bit of TV or even looking at the pics from your mobile on the big screen.

@@CampervanTime How bizarre. I just fitted LEDs from another supplier. Without the canbus filter, bulb error on cluster. And radio reception is affected when the fogs are on. Frustrated! Though they do look so much better 😊.

Win ! Looks good Will. While we are on Lights, what do you think of the LED headlights? I always feel like the beam is way too high off the ground. Seem to be blinding people when I drive past. Wonder if there is a way of setting the beam lower ?

We've never been flashed by others with our LED lights in our T6.1 so I wonder if yours have been set a bit high by the factory? You can adjust them manually under the bonnet but I wouldn't recommend it without getting them tested then at an MOT station - they have the headlight beam pattern checking machine. Maybe find a local friendly garage to help if you don't want to bother VW?

Win - Tip for self, stop buying every accessory that Will and Sarah review as at this rate I wont be able to afford to put fuel on my lovely Cali 🙂

WIN - Make and freeze things like a stew or ragu to take with you when camping. Acts like an ice block in your cool box as it thaws slowly. More of a camping tip as I don't have my Cali yet, but I guess it works in the fridge too as you can turn it down or even off to save power.

Win - if you have a new VW 6.1 California check the tool kit and Jack equipment as the shortages during Covid have meant some incomplete deliveries. These are not always picked up by VW dealership pre delivery inspection.

Thanks for the very useful video. Could you give a link for where these can be bought in UK please? I can only find US website which doesn’t list T6 or 6.1. WIN use Muddle mats from Matalan on floor. They are easy to cut and machine washable.

Thanks for sharing your tip. I asked Auxbeam about a UK site and they just have their international one, but it’s the H11 bulbs you need. If you have a look at the video description I have put the link in there directly to them.

Win - Thanks for another great video Will. You make it all easy to understand and we loved the before and after detail - so visually convincing - must get our fogs changed as it clearly makes such a cosmetic difference as well as the fact that it's probably a lot safer on the road in fog as well. My best tip to any new owners is to definitely use your camper a few times before buying a load of kit. We used them in our 2021 T6.1 and I don't think VW have changed the fog light design during the T6.1 production

Hi, really enjoyed your video. Did you get your lights shipped in from the USA or a UK distributor? The link in the video takes you to the AuxBeam US website to pay in dollars. If shipped in from the USA are there any import duties to add to the cost? Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

We got ours from the USA site and didn’t pay any import duties or vat etc. I think because the amount is small it doesn’t have those issues?

I’m not 100% sure myself. Think upgrading to LEDs may not be allowed (officially) but whether it’s something garages actually check for I don’t know. Transporter HQ mention mots on their various lighting videos, which made me think about it.

Just ordering now because that's been bugging me too

I've not asked, however they are only replacement bulbs, so I can't see why not, but if you are concerned you could always check.

Win - use non slip mat in cutlery drawer it stops the rattles while driving.

Aldi were selling non slip matting, to cut to size, last week 😀I bought some to add to the growing pile of stuff, waiting for our Bilbos LWB VW Celex to arrive.😀

Yes they work on a T6.1, that is what we had and what they were tested on. Yes they still work just fine. We got them direct from AuxBeam.

I think they dispatch them from all over to be honest. Ours came from China. Best to check with them direct I think. Sorry I don’t know the exact answer.

WIN - Get a nice fluffy rug for your van and you can then put heavier items on it and they won't slide around as much
