I was a car audio/ security installer in my youth, I’m currently a certified electrician, I’m curious on the real duty rating vs max duty rating and the listing of this device . I think it’s a great idea I made something similar back in 1990s for hydraulics using a Nintendo controller and Bosch relays and starter solenoids for continuous use . For safety sakes I think I’ll use one at 50% duty rating anything at 30 amps I’ll use a Bosch buffer relay. Nice product.

I like this idea, but when you wire it can you just run a fuse tap off the aux for power? It doesn't look like those wires are long enough to reach into the cab. Also at 00.46 you show the instructions. It looks like they have both main wires running to the ground as opposed to a ground location, is that right?

No, there wouldn’t be an adverse affect to the equipment because they are just the feed portion on relays from switch. A small thing; The label would not match. Also. I would assume the most amperage any single terminal would be rated a max at is 30 amps due to that being the largest on the block. As long as the fuse matches the application you are using it for, you should be fine. However, the connection from battery is a max of 100 amps breaker. If you put a bunch of 30 amp loads on there and turn them all on at one time, you will trip the breaker if the total draw exceeds 100 amps. Could you make them all 30 amps and only use a couple at a time? yes.

When you are switching a device that draws high current, and you need to have on/off control. If you don't use a relay, you will have to use a very heavy gauge wire from the light all the way to inside your vehicle going to the switch, and back out. If you don't use proper gauge wire, the high current will melt the wire and cause a fire.

You typically will connect a pair of lights to one switch circuit. For demonstration, I connected the square lights to 2 separate circuits. If you connect both lights to one circuit, then both will turn on when you push one switch. You just have to make sure the 2 (or more) lights total current draw does not exceed the fuse rating on that circuit. You can determine that either by finding the current draw rating on the products spec sheet, or testing it with a multimeter with the current measurement.

dial2fast ok thank you, and one quick question if you don’t mind. My 100amp circuit breaker is fall out on the trail, and now it is missing. Do you think it’s ok if i swap it with a 130amp? Cause it is hard to find a 100amp. I only found 80amp, 130amp, and 150amp, 200amp and 300amp. Which one do i have to choose? And thank you mate👌

Yellow wire is for backlighting on the controller.. you hook that up to any wire that has 12v when your headlights are on (or to any constant 12v source to have turned on all the time)..... White wire is to cycle through the 3 backlighting brightness settings... So white wire needs to be connected to its own momentary 12v switch. You don't need to connect the white wire to anything if you want, just touch the wire to 12v until you get the brightness you like, then leave it that way, it'll always be set to that brightness.

you dont, its a momentary switch so just tap the wire on the positive of the battery to whatever brightness you want, once you have that, tape up the white wire and tuck away somewhere safe. Alternatively you can add an actual momentary switch to it and run that into the dash if you are wanting to regularly change the brightness
