@@alfafaka You can't expect someone to react to that. I'm guessing you've never played footy before. Touches like that or deflections are harder to read than anything else in the game. A touch like that could make any world class striker or goalie look useless. Tons of goals are scored and missed because of similar plays.

Interestingly enough, the goalkeeper for Austria Lustenau, Schierl, played for the Red Bull Salzburg youth and second team before eventually ending up at Lusteneau who just got promoted to the first division this past season and then having this unlucky performance against his former youth team RB Salzburg

Communication probably played a factor but it's always hard to tell when the supports drown out the players on video

Do you guys not pronounce it the same as the Germans? And would actually hear of the Austrian Leagues a fair amount while playing in Croatia. Mostly because of how much better the pay is in Austria vs Croatia.

Defense was horrible nothing bad on him he actually did pretty good

had a 1 9 (2 own goals stupid pens ...) this season its really down to mentality and how your defence stays awake and doesnt give up

This is the cruelest thing about keeping. It’s such a hard assignment that even when you do all the right things it can still end up looking this bad

Right now, Leno is actually better in 1v1s so I think his technique should be analysed

Fun Fact Lustenau will probably finish 7th out of 12 So pretty good season from last years promoted side

Saulsburg, whether Casino or Red Bull have always had the money to field teams that run the league. Really feel sorry that the keeper was defended by soft defenders that were easily beaten.

Pro goalkeepers in the top 5 leagues make it look easy and their decision making is usually amazing. But in the end goal keepers can only do so much. Maybe if you were in Better positioning for so of the goals, but it’s just hard, especially considering how much better strikers can become, while goal keepers have to rely mainly on positioning and the fact that their defenders can at least help give them a chance. Cutting the angle down or, not letting up a pass in basically leaving the goal keeper stranded in the middle of the goal.

My fav Rapid Bucharest lost 2-7 last match just like that. In the first minute they get a penalty and by min 27 the score was 3-0 for them. We have one of the best goalkeepers in Romania who saved us many matches but when the team is out of touch a goalkeeper can do so little. Our last humiliating loss before this was in 1985, we lost 0-9.

Can you analyze the recent Tottenham vs Newcastle game where Newcastle scored 5 goals in the first 21 mins. It was crazy. I think 3-4 of the goals are the defenders fault. But goal 3#, Hugo did not budge and I feel if he had he could have saved. But I think maybe it was a knuckle ball and he just could not predict the flight path.

nah he's pushed it wide he's done fine there. A lot of power on the shot if he tries to catch he may drop it or lose it in a dangerous area. He can't tip it around the post because he has his whole body behind it he's not at full stretch to tip it around the post. With all the power on the shot the keeper needs to get as much as he can behind the ball and push it out of danger. Which he has done.

Why is he always positioned to the right?

And this is why I dont live the life of a goalkeeper anymore

I played with Will (Goluremi) in Finland during my first professional contract. And while out there helped him with filming when he was first starting his main channel. And eventually we decided to make a separate channel for just goalkeepers

Maybe a quick lateral step would have helped * On the last one, he went out toward the ball but forgot to dive on the it! Ok neither CB did help, nore the ball effect... But his responsability was not null

Have to disagree with you here. 2nd is a very well placed shot and a good reaction, only thing I'd say is that he is pretty far off the line, but that's not gonna help him stop that ball. If he is any more active in the 4th, he gets chipped. His initial position is to stop a potential first touch shot, and from there he does all he can to cut the strikers options and buy time for his defenders. A lateral step IMO would just lead to an earlier shot on target, the dive was a desperate gesture but it was also the right play. I cannot fathom what else he can do for the last one. Not to be mean, but I can't seem to understand what you mean in your last sentence, the English isn't very good. All I know is that he made a good save which left him unable to make the second save. Overall, at max 1 mistake (if you want to chalk the2nd goal up to positional error on his part) led to 6 goals. I don't think any keeper has ever been that unlucky in recorded history.

@@A_Baguette_ nice to have another point of view... It's easy with the eyes of a beholder _ on our seat _ to criticize and find possible errors... My position is that most unlucky was not the right appreciation... This Keeper has not played a bad game and a poor performance... But his responsability is not null on every goal conceided and he could have made better décision or action... even if the game circumstances were not all favorable.

@@A_Baguette_ i'm not english native 😅... On the 4th, the gk went out, made steps toward the ball but he forgot to finish what it's started, i mean diving on the ball! Sure he might have been disturbed by his centre back position and move and maybe the ball bounce and spin but for me, he got a part of the responsability... He did not what is expected in this case...to my opinion 🙂... I hope that i'm more 'understandable'

@@christophedruon4363 Also my bad, I got 4 and 5 mixed up. I still don't think it was on the gk, he simple didn't beat the striker to that ball. I think he came out so he had the option of either stopping the shot or driving the gk wide. If he stayed in net, an corner shot would've beaten him 100%

@@CodPatrol There's a huge difference between criticizing players for poor decisions/actions (what I'm doing in the video) and just outright saying someone is overall a bad player (what your comment is saying). I never say the defenders are bad players, just that they had multiple moments this match where they defended pretty poorly.
