Tornado in graz eggenberg: Heavy rain and thunderstorms struck Styria, Austria on Tuesday, causing the first tornado to be sighted in the region. The tornado, which formed near the Plabutsch mountain, moved through the Eggenberg district of Graz, damaging at least one roof. The heavy rains intensified in the evening, impacting the greater Graz area and particularly the districts in the west such as Eggenberg. Videos of the tornado quickly circulated online, sparking confusion and concern among residents. The tornado is believed to have formed above the Plabutsch area, specifically near Hubertushöhe or Algersdorf, and then moved through Eggenberg. Meteorologists from Geosphere Austria have confirmed the tornado sighting, with several eyewitness accounts corroborating its presence in the west of Graz.The Graz professional fire department reported numerous incidents of damage, responding to around 30 emergency calls. Initially, reports of roof damage in Eggenberg were denied, but subsequent confirmation revealed that a roof near Reininghausgrund had indeed been damaged, likely due to the tornado.
