I am a police officer in Graz :) ... and i frequently get to visit the Schloss-Eggenberg because we have a lot of false break-in alarms there... so i can visit the famous coin collection even in the middel of the night ;) Love your video ❤

Knasten, i just wnated to tell you that you are a luckty man living in that great land. I am a Canadian Citizen and my DREAM is to live in Graz, I am working on this big decission for about 6 years and finally iti's getting together. I will see you there in August this year:) Thank you for this amazing video shows me the huge historical part of the city.

Also i learned that Graz meaning is Castle in the old language same as My last name,, maybe this move is meant to be, right?

I'm born and raised in Graz and have to congratulate: you really covered it very well! Just one addition: since a few years there's also a slide down the castle mountain, next to the elevator. It's pretty spectacular 🙂

far to many tourists in austria are missing out graz in southern austria. Second largest city and a cultural and technological hub. i live near and it is a beatiful and peaceful city!

Graz is not located in the Alps, it is mostly flat land!

We've been to Graz yesterday. Unfortunately, google suggested the video today so I could check the things we missed....... Great video, I love the transitions between sights!! Great for this type of video, gives a nice overview of distances between the sights, keep it up!

Lived there for a little bit back in 2013. Happy to see what has changed, and what hasn’t 😀. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think about my time there. I miss it

Nice, I have been living in Graz for a year and I like it. I would have added Mariatrost Basilica at the other end of tram line 1 (although it's now covered in scaffoldings and it was probably worse at the time of your visit).

Thanks for your support. Winter has its charm but expect snow and ice. On the positive there will be nice christmass lights everywhere. Most places are open all year round.
It was too far from our Salz-Vienna route ( we did stopped at Linz thou, and loved it !! ) but we knew how impressive Graz was , is and will. Im sure we will be back soon to such beautiful gem.

If you rent a car you can do it. Otherwise finding fast transfer might be difficult.

@@rokgoesaround I’m not going to rent a car to keep the cost down, I’ve been told buses and trains do go there but that I should stay a whole night there instead of going just for the day

Thanks. Rick Steves is a legend. Yes, Graz is really nice and compact. I still do tours, but only motorcycle tours around Europe if that works for you? One of the tours I do also stops in Graz.

You can walk to it. Turn down the road after crossing the River at modern artifical Mur island and you will be there in 3 minutes.
