Yes that is the legitimate cloak of the Prophet Muhammed. The locals never see it and its only taken out in times of crisis. No one knows why they dont put it on Public display. In 1768 Ahmed Durrani took it and bought the cloak to Kandahar after striking a peace treaty with the Amir of Bukhari. Prophet originally gave it to a yemeni which was then taken by the Ottamon empire It was worn by the famous founddr of the taliban Mullah omar in 1966 in a rare footage foe the first time. It was like a rare moment where all the Locals surrounded him

Absolutely correct information except mulla omar wore it in 1996 not 1966 this cloak was gifted to Awais Qarni by prophet Muhammad

Further correction Mohammed Mullah Omar Mujahid didnt wear the cloak out of respect for Hazrat Muhammad Salalahualhiwasalam peace be upon him he only held it up infront of a crowd of taliban leaders, supporters and ulema in a 1996 ceremony and was solely officialy inaugarated from that day on by the taliban leadership council and islamic ulema council of afghanistan as emir ul momineen commander of the faithful a title given to the khalifa of the entire muslim ummah.
