Australia From Above Is Magical! | Skyrail | Tropical North Queensland Australia Ep 2/3
Welcome back to Australia and our second Tropical North Queensland vlog! Today we’re going on the epic Skyrail and up on a magical misty hot air balloon!... 🎬 Learn how to edit video with Dane - danegerandstacey.com/video-ed... ⬇ More Below ⬇
Welcome back to Tropical North Queensland, one of (if not THE) most unique places we’ve visited in Australia. This is our 2nd of 3 vlogs in this little Australia mini-series and after getting out on the water last time at the Great Barrier Reef, today we’re getting up in the air… and it’s insane!
First up is a hot air balloon ride over the Atherton Tablelands that turned into a majestic experience we could never have predicted. The morning fog created the most magical sun rays and ambience to the whole experience that really made it feel like we were escaping above a pillow resting over the Australian countryside. We went up with Hot Air, Australia’s largest hot air balloon company, check out our specific tour here - www.hotair.com.au/cairns/ball...
Then it was on to the Skyrail in Cairns. It's a 7.5km cableway over and deep into Australia’s Wet Tropics World Heritage Area that has survived to become the home of the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforest! Such an awesome perspective over the rainforest and like you see in the vlog, we had the glass bottom cablecar which is definitely not for everyone, but we loved it! We wish we’d stayed a bit longer and also booked in one of the legs to go out or come back on the train as well, that looked like heaps of fun. Check out all the options here - www.skyrail.com.au/
Wrapping things up we stopped at Kuranda Koala Gardens. There’s so much more than just Koalas here, but for us as a couple of Kiwis wanting to go for Aussie tourist mode, we really wanted to get up close with a Koala and it didn’t disappoint! www.koalagardens.com
This series is in partnership with Tropical North Queensland tourism, but as always we have full editorial control over what we share with you in these vlogs. There’s loads of incredible info about Tropical North Queensland here - www.tropicalnorthqueensland.o...

You guys are the best!!!
Thanks for the memories. Twenty years ago this year we spent our honeymoon in Australia. We did the hot air balloon, the Kuranda gondola and the cuddle with the koala. We also stayed at The Reef House. Thanks for letting us relive our experience.
That star time lapse was INSANE!
Love your Queensland adventure guys! Beautiful!! 😍🥰🇦🇺💖
The QUALITY and CINEMATOGRAPHY got me feeling like I’m watching a nature documentary

Loved this video guys, I had a smile on my face the whole time. Stacey’s reaction to every animal 🤣🤣
Wow, that cloud inversion was stunning. I've been wanting to see one for so many years and have just got back from a couple of weeks in Madeira where it's easy to see them, but it was always mountain tops poking through - but your shots of the trees poking through gave such a different texture. 😍 Like yourselves, I've done the hot air balloon in Cappadoccia (though was there in summer and practically died of heat exhaustion unlike your experience of snow!) so can really appreciate the additional experience of the pilot talking you though how the balloon works in addition to the views from it as I had no idea how they work. That waterfall from the gondola was insane - was it busy due to the ease of access on the gondola? Your experience at the Koala gardens was really good because of how hands on it was, different to most zoos! The next episode looks insane, and right up my street. A mixture of adventure and wildlife. I've said it before, but you guys need to do a big trip to Costa Rica as I am so sure you'd love it!!
Wow! Very exciting taking a Hot Air Balloon ride. Great ideas of what to see in Cairns. We'll be there in February. Thanks for the video.
You do such a good job at filming, information and entertainment. The passion shines through

Yes I can't wait to see Skyrail Cairns in September
The skyrail is awesome 😎
Another epic adventure video, it's like you guys took our itinerary for our FNQ holiday last year that didn't happen due to the relentless rain. Glad the weather is behaving for you. Koalas are so cute, but so are the roos and wombats etc. Anyhow, enjoy, have a great time, we're off to Disneyland on Thursday, otherwise we'd invite you over for a BBQ. Kevin & Ange
Incredible views and editing legends. You guys picked an ideal time to be up there in the dry season. I was up there in the wet season. We copped on average 150 mm of rain a day and 500% humidity. When I was on the sky rail it was so misty it was like being on a ride to meet God at the top. Wombats are thick AF, had one raid my tent on camp in school. Hopefully you see the tree kangaroos. You missed the Kuranda railway.

I was going to mention the railway also. Did it as a kid, many, many moons ago, then took hubs on it years later. He loved it! ( did the Skyrail up, train down.)

Yup the railway would have been awesome but just takes that bit longer, looking back now we should have made the extra time to do it - looked so cool!
As a fellow New Zealander, you guys deserve more views!

Ya gotta do it! We've been to Aus so many times and never have, so it was overdue
Absolutely incredible ❤️
I'd forgotten about the stops on the skyrail! The only memory of that I have from 20 years ago were the bumps at the rail connector things that made it feel. Like the car could come loose... but I do remember huge spiders up there too. Your video makes me realize how much I need to go back in the time of digital cameras. I went with a film camera... and took 40 rolls of film (and was a psycho at every airport refusing to left them put my film through xray in case it damaged it... TSA was pretty unhappy with me in a newly post 9-11 world)... but that many shots is nothing these days. I was pretty much out of film by the time I got up north, so I'm lacking in images. I'd never seen kuranda either... we were on a tour and got whisked straight up to cape tribulation, or maybe a volcano right after skyrail. We did the koala cuddling at Lone Pine (that's most of my photos... sooo cute. The pure joy of everyone cuddling a koala. Nothing like it!
Wauw that was the most Breathtaking footage ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Fantastic Super adventure again the Views OMG 😱. Aww the Koalas 🐨. Absolutely gorgeous 😍( my oldest son was in Australia 2019 ) he visited a koala sanctuary there were some been taken in from the awful bush fires ☹️🥺 he said was so sad to see .He enjoyed cuddling one too 🥰. ,plus how soft they were . Sure a great place to visit to see everything, thank you for taking us along ,looking Forward to your next adventure The sneek peak it looks just as awesome 🤩 . Have a Great weekend🥰 Hows Nalu doing ?
Nice video! Can't wait to see your next one. I'll be staying at Thala in October. Anxious to see your review on it. :) Also, looking very forward to the skyrail trip!! Thanks..

Stunning hot air balloon ride! I have been on a hot air balloon before, but not in morning mist like that! It is beautiful yet frightening at the same time. Thanks for explaining the reason behind the champagne at the end. I was wondering about that. Great vlog! Looking forward to the next one! 😎
Hi love the video. We wish we knew you were coming to our lovely town of Mareeba, we could have given you a tour around the Heritage Centre that we volunteer at. Pleased you enjoyed yourselves. Cheers from Mick and Neil “Ozziexplorers”. Neil has just started your course and enjoying it.

It's something we've thought about over time, maybe trying to tee something up with NZ on Air to work on a project that's a bit longer and larger in scale - but it all comes down to who you know and we'd really need to commit the time to making it happen. Either way, thank you so much!
messages cuzzy rory back too night or any time yo free buddyy.
I went to Kuranda and got attacked by aboriginals, abused for not giving them cigarettes or money, then I got spat on and had cask wine thrown on me, was extremely disappointed, would not recommend.
