2 Unique Australia Tours! Tropical North Queensland Australia Ep 3/3

Come check out 2 crazy tours in Australia! We're in Tropical North Queensland deep in the Daintree Rainforest, up in Cape Tribulation, exploring Thala Beach Nature Reserve ... 🎬 Learn how to edit video with Dane - danegerandstacey.com/video-ed... ⬇ More Below ⬇
Welcome back to Tropical North Queensland for the final vlog in this quick Australia series! Today we're exploring deep into the oldest surviving tropical rainforest in the world with 2 awesomely unique tours - a cultural tour up to Cape Tribulation and a crazy river drifting trip through the Daintree rainforest.
First up is a Cape Tribulation tour with Walkabout Cultural Adventures. It's a trip that travels north of the Daintree river and explores the Daintree rainforest and environment around Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef. Learn about how these unique environments come together and how the local Kuku Yalanji utilised and managed the natural resources. Sample some seasonal bush tucker, learn bush medicines, take a guided rainforest walk, while appreciating the history, culture and traditions of our Australian Aboriginal people - www.walkaboutadventures.com.a...
Then we checked into the stunning Thala Beach Nature Reserve! It's located on a private headland between Cairns and Port Douglas with deluxe eco accommodation spread over the resort’s 145 acre property. This is proper luxury in nature! www.thalabeach.com.au
Finishing up our trip we found one of the most unique tours we've ever done - river drift snorkelling with Back Country Bliss. Deep in the Daintree we were swimming, snorkelling, floating and walking around the rainforest - backcountrybliss.com.au/tours...
This series is in partnership with Tropical North Queensland tourism, but as always we have full editorial control over what we share with you in these vlogs. There’s loads of incredible info about Tropical North Queensland here - www.tropicalnorthqueensland.o...

I loved Dane’s question “What’s that behind you??” 🤣🤣. The answer is - a bush turkey sometimes called a scrub turkey. 🦃

As an Aussie, the part where you said “this does not seem like an Australian beach” made me laugh as beaches like that are normal to me. Even though I’m from Adelaide.

Whoa, your guide on the wildlife spotting tour was amazing! It always amazes me how guides like him can spot those camouflaged spiders on the tree, peppermint stick insect and crocs miles off. Stace, your jellyfish stings looked SO painful. Jellyfish are the main reason why I was scared to go in the sea as a kid. I've worked on it over the years. Your river sled guide mentioned that crocs don't like running, clear or cold water. Just how cold was the water - trying to work out if the wetsuits were to keep you warmer or if it was to protect your skin from UV rays as I know the danger of the sun is a lot worse in Australia. I've thoroughly enjoyed this 3 part series - it's given me some serious food for thought - I only wish it had been longer!

The wetsuits were for warmth, a lot of the trip was under the forest cover so away from the sun and it was freeeeezing in spots, well it would have been without the wetsuit. I (Dane) actually took them up on the offer for a thermal layer underneath as well and totally glad that I did! Stace's stings took so long to get better, but we seemed to be the unlucky ones on the tour who got hit, no one else really!

Ahh the memories! Queensland is something... it is just like this magical place where it seems like everything defies the natural order/logic of the world. I had forgotten about that ice cream place! Is it just me or are the guides in Australia like next level? I feel like each of our guides were family by the days end. Yikes a Cassowary in the wild! Did it at least have the courtesy to cross near a cassowary crossing sign? I feel like we did like an afternoon at Mossman River and the guides had warned us of Cassowaries being a possible threat and I think I spent most of my time on alert thinking they were going to attack like the velociraptors in Jurassic Park. I'm so sorry the stingers got you. That's no fun! We couldn't swim at the beach our whole trip because of them. Hopefully you are healed from that!

You're totally right, Aussie tour guides are the best - so friendly, funny, down to earth and knowledgeable. In this case though Aaron was a legend, being a local and sharing what he knows was huge - we wish we could have captured more of his knowledge and aboriginal insight!
