    It looked like you were ready to pause right before she demanded "don't you speak over my voice" and you didn't dare! 😂 Like you, I never expected to listen to this kind of music, but I can't get enough of Aurora! I just adore her and her music.

    I think this song is on several levels -- AURORA likes to leave final interpretation to the listener: "depends on the person who listens to the song, since the songs have different meanings depending on how deep you dive into them."

    Thank you. I think this song may be related to Murder Song 54321 in some way. Something bad happened to the protagonist. In the end she returns as a ghost to seek her revenge. That’s what I hear anyway.

    The depth of this young lady never ceases to amaze me. When I listen to all the shallow garbage on the radio these days, I look at her and my bar is set so high now. I mean look at the subjects that she covers in just the songs you've heard so far. I mean, mercy killing, suicidal thoughts, abusive relationships that turn deadly, climate change etc. And some of these she wrote when she was 9 and 11 years old. She's only almost 25 now. I can't imagine what else we will get. But not to worry, not all of her songs are sad or disturbing. Try "Queendom" if you haven't already. That's a fun one. I just love this girl. She is something special.

    Hello Lee! Another extreme dramatic song by her. You have so right about her voice. She have a remarcable voice controll. Love the storytelling in this. Not so many singers could make feathers and slowmotion in nowadays music and get tension... So cinematography. I would see a horror film start with this song. Yes and i keep nagging about my favourite performance with her. The rather slow but so extreme atmospheric and haunted beautiful Aurora - Lucky in Nidarosdomen. Prepare for some emotional minutes. Great, great work my friend.

    Only Aurora can make lyrics dealing with difficult topics (In this case, violence and possibly rape in a relationship) so beguiling. Lee, take another trip north and check out Eivor Palsdottir from the Faroe Islands, "Trodlabundin", filmed on a farm by a fjord in Norway, both vocally and visually stunning.

    LYRICS [Verse 1] Eyes blue and hollow As it rains against their will Feathers falling out of a pillow As if time's standing still [Pre-Chorus 1] I can't remember much more But I know it happened quiet So quiet [Chorus 1] Words falling out through the window All that remains is a silent call Is the Earth colored red? As I land like a flower on the meadow Love is wild [Verse 2] You fell apart Like a stone can be broken into sand A thousand pieces Spread across a crying land [Pre-Chorus 2] And you can't remember that day But you know it happened quiet So quiet [Chorus 1] Words falling out through the window All that remains is a silent call Is the Earth colored red? As I land like a flower on the meadow Love is wild [Bridge] Are your dreams as dead as they seem? Are your dreams as dead as they seem? [Chorus 2] Don't you speak over my voice I will return from the shadows And I'll bleed in your bed Turn it red Like the ground outside your window Love is wild [Outro] Love is wild Love is wild Love is wild Love is wild ### Track Info Written By Sacha Skarbek & AURORA String Arranger Knut Anders Vestad Drums AURORA Programmer AURORA, Askjell, Roy Kerr & Tim Bran Mixing Engineer Magnus Skylstad Keyboards Tim Bran, Roy Kerr, Askjell & AURORA Percussion AURORA Harp Ruth Potter Orchestration Therese Eriksen Cello Ellen Holmas, Karoline Brevik, Marit Aspås & Torleif Holm Engineering Daniel Cayotte & Hervé Le Guil Assistant Recording Engineer Morgane Mayollet Mastering Engineer Chris Sansom Additional Production Magnus Skylstad Release Date September 28, 2018

    You are actually doing it right. Aurora rarely explains what her songs mean, because she wants the listener to interpet it instead, as it can have different meanings to several people.

    Hey Lee - great reaction! I think you were on to the meaning behind the lyrics (although they can be interpreted depending on one's own experience). I think this song is part of a trilogy of sorts along with "Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1" and "Churchyard". Both worth listening to. I'd recommend "Runaway" at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert for your next listen - but you really can't go wrong with any of her songs. I believe I posted a list on your last Aurora reaction - hope that helps. Enjoy your Aurora journey! Cheers!

    Great reaction :) What i love about Aurora's music is it is so open to interpretation. Some say its about murder, some have said its about rapre from a loved one, the list goes on. And i don't think anyone is wrong. Obviously Aurora had something in mind while making it, but it seems her songs are always made to let you take what you need from it :)

    Great reaction.... again.... Next: another song from the same consert? - Or may be one of her covers? Do you like Bowie or Cohen? Bowie: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nX5km5eMYLDTnqQ.html (or you can take the same song at the Nidarosdomen consert) - She makes this song her own..... Cohen: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gZWaksmzgbbPf7A.html (this was a tribute consert she was invited to after his death, not her own band, so this is not way off the original). Cohen: kzread.info/dash/bejne/m2h3yduPfa3Pdc4.html (This was done a few days after his death, and I guess it was "in the moment" kind of thing.... Look at her... you can see her sadness and respect...)

    Awesome reaction!!! I think this song is about an abusive relationship, and the ending is the victim coming back to haunt the abuser. I’d highly recommend as the next reaction another stunning performance at Nidarosdomen: the song Lucky.

    My interpretation of this song is I believe she is talking about how we are poisoning our Mother earth. She is extremely spiritual in her beliefs, and I think she is using murder as a metaphor.

  • @TomTomson81
    @TomTomson813 жыл бұрын

    For me, the song deals with a relationship that is slowly breaking down (happend quite) because one part is emotionally and / or physically suppressing the other. The downtrodden swallows the other person's dirt until he/she finally explodes and either kills the other person or has the courage to speak up and say goodbye to this relationship. Btw Aurora can call many metal fans her own. I am one of them. Her music gets along very well with metal. Both are pure, both sound best live, similar instruments are played. But why Aurora is listed under pop is a mystery to me. For me it's more indie.
