Discovered her on Quantico, and even though it was a paint by numbers procedural, she stood out for her mastery of the craft. You could tell she was an actor's actor not just another of the many pretty faces on yet another show.
Let’s not forget her performance as Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark in The Clark Sisters documentary!! Phenomenal!

I am proud of this black women. I grew up watching her films. I will support her in anyway I can.
She was amazing in If Beale Street Could Talk. In terms of if a screen adaptation maintains fidelity to the book, her performance when she says "That child.." combined with Barry Jenkins' decision to have the audience feel black plight instead seeing it, rendered James Baldwin's style of hardly showing black plight and letting a reader understand it through character. And she played the horror for what's to come perfectly. Not overdone. You can understood so much about black people's experience in the US just from her performance. Aunjanue is one of the best.
