Aunjanue Ellis on "The Book of Negroes" in Studio Q

Ойын-сауық

Aunjanue Ellis joins guest host Gill Deacon to discuss "The Book of Negroes" and what the period drama can teach us about present day society. Ellis, who previously appeared in Oscar-nominated films "The Help" and "Ray" also reflects on the centrality of her character, Aminata Diallo; why she gravitates toward roles that re-frame history; and the dream role once played by Olivia de Havilland that she hopes to land in the future.

Maybe their fulfillment in life is not in a mate, but in the freedom of having friendships, travelling, being creative in artistry etc. The majority of people don't understand the phrase, "Peace of mind." Not everyone is defined by having a mate, and I say that respectfully.
