    My grandfather would sing this and other tunes, from back at the turn of the century. It was a tune they would sing in the trenches of WW1. The pipes were something he enjoyed!

    Soldiers in ww1 used to sing to this tune in the trenches, and though I can never remember the actual lyrics to this tune, the soldiers singing will always haunt and encourage me at the same time. We're here because we're here because we're here because we're here. It's existential and purposeless in that we are on earth as humans without a purpose, just to be here, and hopeful and beautiful in that we're here just to be here.     I can’t really explain it but bagpipes, pianos, violins, and Celtic music make me feel at home or make long for home They are beautiful. Those instruments and this song are pretty much guaranteed to make me cry When I was in scouts, a nearby troop had some bagpipers. During our week long summer camp, you would hear the bagpipes throughout the forest. It was such a treat

    Quê linda música! Qunta saudade e lembranças me traz da escola militar que fiz em Campinas em 1.966! Eu compus uma letra e adaptei essa música e todos cantamos na nossa formatura com acompanhamento da banda militar. Foi lindo e emocionante.

    Prachtig dat oude Schotse lied met begeleiding van Doedelzak zou het nog mooier klinken, maar zoals de 🎶❤Snake Charmer dit speelt vind ik ook geweldig. en ja in feite had ik overal wel lid van willen worden, maar binnenkort word ik 90 en dan doe je zoiets niet meer!
