My grandfather would sing this and other tunes, from back at the turn of the century. It was a tune they would sing in the trenches of WW1. The pipes were something he enjoyed!

When the real world seems like a desolate desert, “Auld Lang Syne” becomes a wonderful oasis that is more valuable than anything else in my heart ❤

My father and his friends used to play this song on their harmonicas at the end of our skiing holidays in Austria when I was little. I have loved this beautiful song ever since. And I also love the sound of bagpipes! 😁👍

I've always loved the sound of bagpipes, maybe it's an appreciation for my mixed Scottish heritage. This rendition has provided me an ocean of calm in an otherwise emotionally tempestuous time of year and for that, I thank you.

Soldiers in ww1 used to sing to this tune in the trenches, and though I can never remember the actual lyrics to this tune, the soldiers singing will always haunt and encourage me at the same time. It's existential and purposeless in that we are on earth as humans without a purpose, just to be here, and hopeful and beautiful in that we're here just to be here. I can’t really explain it but bagpipes, pianos, violins, and Celtic music make me feel at home or make long for home They are beautiful. Those instruments and this song are pretty much guaranteed to make me cry When I was in scouts, a nearby troop had some bagpipers. During our week long summer camp, you would hear the bagpipes throughout the forest. It was such a treat
