Seek out the movie "Vanishing Point" (1971). No CGI, but real driving, real people and really intense deep in the mind stuff ... and some really cool ultra modern technology in California :)
@googboog
7 жыл бұрын
that movie influenced me so much, i even made an animated short film called "the chase" as a tribute to it. it had 45000 views on it like 10 years ago, before youtube claimed copyright and i had to replace the song.. a lot of people didnt like that movie though
@switchjim
7 жыл бұрын
googboog said "lot of people didn't like" ... Yeah, (Seems like all of) those old movies moved slower, and fighting and driving were like "real". It is mostly (as you know, but anyone might read this) ... it is mostly a movie of the driver's mind and the DJ's mind, and how it "creates reality." Choices create reality. The whole movie is about just one weekend, so it almost moves in a slow "real time", with mundane flat tires and dead air on the radio, snakes and evangelist, quiet in the desert, and a whole lot of great muscle car action. You, as a creative person, might like the style of that "Future Shock" documentary movie, which had a style to invoke an uneasy Quickness of Pace, yet today, it seems sooo slow! The future it predicted is today's mundane ordinary.

Completely different styles and techniques. They both sound good, but Audioslave songs are very distortion heavy, and that completely wrecked his voice during the 2003 tour. This technique isn't the healthiest. It took 7 years for him to gradually work his way back up to those crazy high Soundgarden vocals.
Just that ''Mmmm'' in Chris' voice is enough to completely dismantle the brain and heart. Damn!

Cornell is a musical king Midas. The only mistake Cornell ever made was Scream. I think he just did it to see if he could pull it off. It didn't quite work out, although songwriting was solid as he proved in many acoustic performances of songs off of the album.
That feeling, that victory, that message ...makes my feel victorious and crying my eyes out at the same time...every time I play it. I also love how they made themselves starring in Vanishing point 🖤

I was wondering if there was any "old guys" that remembered "Vanishing Point"! It came out in theaters in late 60's or early 70's, if I recall correctly... I might've been in my early teens when I first saw it, one of 1st movies I recall that had good rock n roll music soundtrack, I remember the Jesus freak who threw the box of rattlesnakes @ the guy who drove the Challenger in that flick! Guy also took acid in one part of movie also! It was a typical "B" movie, shown during summer vacation!

@@alext2566 I'm a coward for speaking my mind? How does that work? I'd say it to the guy's face if I could. It's not like I have the option. And what is your logic? If someone is dead you're not allowed to have an opinion on them? Or it's ok to have an opinion of them, as long as it's a positive one? The guy's a good singer. I listen to his music all the time. It doesn't mean I have to like him as a person. And you don't have to like my comment. But I fail to see how it makes me a coward to say someone that walks out and abandons their children instead of dealing with their issues and being there for their kids, is a coward. I'm a parent. I'm also fighting a terminal illness myself. I could easily give up and just let myself die, because fighting is hard. But I refuse to do that. So you can call me a coward all you want. I know I'm not. As does anyone that knows me. You're just lashing out because you don't like what I said about some celebrity you put on a pedestal.

Fun fact: that ending line where his voice cuts in and out was not a digital effect. He did it by (lightly!) tapping his Adam's apple with the side of his hand while shifting pitches, you can see him doing it in live performances of this song. Try it, with a little practice you can do it consistently.
