You went again above and beyond Luis. In my case I would have diagnosed it and sent it back to the place it came from. Just to keep my frustration level down. But I did learn a few new words for heat shrink🤣

Nice work Luis! You can save yourself loads of stripdown work if you use a tone and probe kit for finding opens and high resistances. CPC do one for about £36 (IN05683) I use mine many times a week. If your tests show the wire is open, apply the signal generator at one end and ground the other. You will get a step change in signal at the fault point. If you don't ground the other end of the wire though, the signal will go through the green crusties to the other end and you'll never find the fault. Did a similar repair on an Octavia, that wired straight into the ABS module too. Additionally that had a third tail for the ride height sensor for the headlamp levelling, which had also failed.

When you mention "ground the other" do you mean ground the other end of the suspect wire or the other wire of the toner ?

That front loom fails in every VAG from time to time. It's like with the door latches. They never had that properly sorted and fails for decades now. Personally I think that VAG looms are the worst kind along with Ford. BMW wiring at the top for me.
