Such a fun watch! Allllmost owned an RS3 before the F80. They’re such a fun/strong platform

Unitronic or APR stage 1+ on rs3 vs bootmod3 stage 1 f80 m3 & and then the same thing with same tunes with a TTRS and BMW M2C or M4. Everyone would love to see that!!! Can’t compare a flash tune to a piggy back tune.

I had no idea the RS was fwd based. But it sounds so good!!!!

I had the same problem when initially tuning my rs3. The awd on the rs3 is touchy and it’s the dyno causing the car to throw shadow codes. The same thing happens when you unplug your exhaust valve motors without a proper delete plug. The hp limitation due to “shadow” codes being thrown is limiting power because you didn’t properly disable the rwd. Thus the reason you also see your tq drop at him rpm. It’s not the JB4 causing the issue, although a proper stage 1 flash via uni or APR or now ds1, would make significantly more power. If you have a vcds scanner you’d be able to see the codes I’m referencing. I have an APR stage 1+ RS3 that consistently pulls 10.8s with full weight (plus a couple car seats), unprepared surface, and all season tires on my E85 file. Pulls 11.2 all day on 93 and put down 455whp via awd dynojet. On your final JB4 map you should be near 410-420whp and roughly 11.4-11.5 1/4 mile and 119-120mph trap. Anyways, great video and love the comparison. Would be nice to see some dragy times as well or to see the rs3 on a awd dyno!

That´s all about, in my opinion, never a piggy back will be able to be as good as a honest and well done flash tuning.

Rs3 should have Unitronic or Apr vs Bootmod f80/82 otherwise Jb4 on both cars...

How long does it take between the dyno measures? Like first run, wait some minutes to engine and transmission cool down, or runs are mostly sequential with no cool down steps?

Do you guys do installations?

I'm was wondering about heat soak too. But the torque way up means it's gonna be quicker overall anyway.

Are those numbers at the crank or wheel? You mentioned the gear ratio but I wasnt sure what numbers you guys are reporting

Good thing I didn't go with the JB4. Got that Unitronics stage 2 which puts down WAY more power.

480 crank horsepower is the bare minimum for at stage 1 on an RS3 whereas 510 crank horsepower is what we expect from a stage 1 M3/M4. Not sure the JB4 is doing that 5 pot any justice.

Dyno numbers don't win races. you guys should do a dig race on the street and see who wins ;)

With the right tyre setup the m3 will be able to hook up m3 would be able to best it down the quarter mile

I think the RS3 has the same AWD system as the S3/Golf R so I'm thinking you'd be able to disconnect the haldex and another controller on the transmission make the car FWD only rather than pulling the fuse

There seems to be some problem with those tunes, the torque suddenly drops back to stock level at the high revs, that's not normal. For the lower RPMs the tune seems to be fine. Maybe there's some sensor limit that's making the JB tune fall back to stock values.

Is the m3 larger inside than rs3? Leg room headroom all that

I bought a used JB4 for my 2018 Audi RS3. When I received the item I noticed that there were 4 junctions instead of 3. Is this normal?

Bootmod BM3 should tune the rs3 daza, DS1 is owning that market right now.

BMW for the win! The RS3 would be tough in the stop light Gran Prix,though, with all that torque.

Even tho disabling xdrive little wheel spin will allways be On Xdelete webpage they explain why cant remember tho..

this is an audi, not a bmw. Rs3's are front bias and will be fully front wheel drive until needed.

Great car the RS3, better daily driver than the M4, faster in a straight line, BUT (big but) it ain’t no track weapon. It just doesn’t turn in as M2/M3/M4 and there’s no way you can tune it to out turn a ///M car.

JB4 is a decent tune but you would get much better results with a custom tune etc

Audi just look so nice

But they say with Jb tunes you need to drive couple hundread Km....

That has nothing to do with changing maps, that has too do with first install, so the duty bias can learn.

Not a good comparison at all. Piggy back verse ECU tune. 3.0 litre twin turbo verse 2.5 litre single turbo. As many have suggested- needed to be APR or Unitronic ECU tune to level out at least some of the many variables. Ironically stock RS3 still quicker off the line 🚦 than modified F80.....😝

Needs an APR tune. These piggybacks don’t play well with the Bosch ecus

Except for every BMW has a Bosch ecu, and the jb4's are very competitive on those platforms.

Audi is the better choice to mod, they can make crazy power

True although the rs3 had a piggyback tune. The rs3/ttrs is a much better platform to go beyond stage 2 though compared to s55 powered cars after all the worlds fastest rs3 and TTRS would annihilate the worlds fastest S55 powered cars in straight line performance.

They do make 1000whp+. Look up iroz, they are the kings when it comes to building rs3's

M3 would need the right tyre setup and it will hook up seen 9sec m3 hook up on the street with the right setup

Jb4s are junk wouldn’t run them in my audi or bmw

I've never been a believer of JB4 performance gains. To me their product is garbage.
