Audi B8.5 S4: Family Friendly Cruise Missile. Shooting Brake's UK Road Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Over the years, fast Audis have picked up a distinct reputation. Brilliant engines, gorgeous interiors and wooden chassis. Audi sought to change this reputation starting from the B7 generation, and by the time the B8 was released they claimed their cars had fully competitive dynamic prowess.
This Misano Red B8.5 example is marketed on shootingbrake.com. With a stage 2 MRC map unlocking 475bhp from that bulletproof 3.0 supercharged V6, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to see if the Audi handling myth had finally been busted. Watch the vid to hear Ghaleb's thoughts on this stunning family hauler.
If you're keen on this all-wheel-drive, DSG, supercharged V6 estate, you can view 100+ detailed photos, read through a comprehensive description and place your bids on shootingbrake.com. This one benefits from a comprehensive service history, plus a full detail with PPF and a ceramic coat making it an ideal fast daily driver. This S4 was such an impressive car. So much drama, performance and composure from a gorgeous, discreet and useable package. There is an argument to be made for this S4 over any other estate car, which is quite something considering where it sits in Audi's very impressive collection of fast estates.

You're not wrong about the interior I almost bought a 2 litre diesel 2015 until I saw the interior. This is when I remembered it's just a facelift of the 2009 model

Yeah thats fair. I do think it's a beautiful interior and best in class in terms of looks, feel, quality and refinement and I think the design will age much better than its competitors. If you're looking for modernity above all however it won't suit. It's interesting that many modern luxury cars have gone back to cowled screens such as this and moved away from the iPad on dash look that characterised "modern" interior design in 2015

Glad im not the only one that felt that way about the pedals. Drivetrain is an excellent combination just be sure to keep your eye on the gearbox as they arent the strongest

This one had a new gearbox at 60k so will have plenty of life left. As you say it's a lovely gearbox and really suits the car!

Try a manual gearbox with the B8 and the actual hydraulic steering rack... And the sports diff. Power on oversteer. 🤙🏽 My daily.

B8 has hydraulic steering, so.more feel than the b8.5. Honestly, this car is a revelation. I've come from bmws and subarus, and my b8 s4 avant is absolute leagues ahead in handling. So much so that I often remark that it does things that should not be possible for an awd wagon. Absolutely epic cars, and tuned? Bang for buck there's sfa that cab touch them ( and I'm.from nz, where jdm imports are everywhere)
