Audi A7....100k Miles Later

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A 2014 Audi A7 review but with 100k miles. I have always wanted to see what an Audi would be like with 100,000 miles. This 2014 Audi A7 is a unique luxury car with some surprising benefits that you typically don't get with other full size luxury sedans. We will take a look at those obvious advantages as well as talk about how well this 2014 Audi A7 has held up with nearly 100k miles. I have driven BMWs and Mercedes Benzes with over 100k miles so it will be nice to compare it to this Audi A7 with 100k miles. Oh, and I drove a Hyundai Genesis with 100k miles as well.

Haha unibrow 😂 that seems to be the new trend now for cars to make one huge single taillight I don’t mind it I think it’s sleek but this older design will have a special place in my heart because it was the first Audi I fell in love with. But again looks are always subjective

I have a 2012 A7 Prestige. Bought it with 70k miles 3 years ago and I'm sitting right around 130k miles right now. Only a few "major" issues aside from regular service (brakes, fluids, filters, tires, etc) -Failed thermostat (common issue) done by previous owner but around $500 -Broken coil spring $800 for both sides -Failed engine mount $250 with DIY maintenance -Failed alarm horn $300 with used parts and DIY maintenance (Would have been $800 from Audi) -Failed right "Adaptive frontlight system" (Cornering light) replacement ballast + DIY maintenance $350 -Failed trunk lid motor $250 with used parts and DIY maintenance (Would have been $2k from Audi 😨) -A few minor interior pieces $100ish -That's it!! Something to keep in mind - my car has the same 20inch wheels featured in this video. Beautiful, but there are few options for tires. 4 good ones will run you about $1000-$1500. All and all this car has been absolutely incredible to own and has been my absolute favorite cars stylistically. The reliability has been pleasantly surprising, very cheap to own for a luxury German car especially if you can do your own simple maintenance. If you're considering purchasing one of these vehicles, go for it.

So I replied on another comment about this but I do like it it’s clean but this was my favorite because this was Audi’s first design that made me love new Audi styling. I actually hates the way Audi’s looked until this car came out. This design you can buy used and you don’t look embarrassing pulling up, it’s such a beautiful design still appreciated today. The new A7 has that one stripe of Led in the back which seems to be the new trend. I think it’s clean but what I’m wary about is the lack of feel and digitized nature of newer luxury cars. I don’t think it will carry the same dynamic this car does

Wouldn't spec that if I was buying the car new. Tbh, I don't see any listed that are comparable for less than $30,000, so I would say that's a good benchmark. Under that is a great buy. Great video. Thank you! Very accurately described. I am the grateful owner of a 2016 Audi A7 Prestige and I love it. 74K miles. It's been pretty good but I've had a bad oil separator, bad caliper, and several little things like gas door latch failing, drink cup holder spring broken, change box door broken, LEDs out in the upper rear brake light, step plate, sill plate light stopped working, and a couple other things that were another $800. It's worth it. I love the car every time I drive it and it still looks like new. It's so fun to watch other cars disappear in the rear view mirror so quickly when you put the pedal down and the Quattro system gets down to business. No wheel hop in this beauty. Best part is, I paid $35K for it 4 months before the warranty expired and for what I've had to pay for repairs and maintenance, I couldn't do much better. They wanted $6500 for a 4 year warranty. I haven't spent half of that in 4 years. If you think about buying a car off warranty, just be prepared if there are problems because it can be very expensive and parts are not easy to get. Be ready to rent a car unless your dealer has a nice service department. Oh, speaking of service department, my local dealer is regularly scheduled out for 30 days or worse. Finding a good local shop is imperative.

Good review on an aging Audi. I have 191K on my A6-Q that I bought new in 2007 which replaced my '98 A6 with 170K. It still drives great, very solid road feel particularly on the highway. Engine and trans are in fine shape, just passed annual emissions inspection. The electricals, body hardware and interior have held up surprisingly well. Just prepare for never-ending oil gasket leak problems, which began at 75K, and expensive front-end suspension jobs. Can an Audi get to 200K? Yes, but it'll cost ya.

I think it's a stylish, reliable car that you can use everyday and then when you park it you can't wait until the next day to drive it again!! 🤩😂 But I think (and as its known here in Europe) the competitor of this car is the CLS and the BMW 6-Series, not the 440i.

@@killerblue1 It's a great, beautiful and reliable car, but try to avoid the first generation (2014 and less). There are catastrophic malfunctions in the gearbox for the first generation, but most of the car problems have been solved in facelift models (2015+). Regarding to the car and its maintenance, you must take in consider that the spare parts and service costs are really expensive, and the insurance is also very expensive (here in Sweden about $170 a month), but in general the car is reliable if you drive sedately. I advise you to search for a car that has a service history with a low number of previous owners. In Sweden, from the registration plate number we can get all the information about the car and even the number of its previous owners, their names, ages, addresses, duration of ownership, the result of the periodic inspection, and what price it was sold at, etc. I hope you have the same thing in Ireland! 🤔

Engine Control Unit = ECU Transmission Control Unit = TCU Using APR as an example Stage 1 is software upgrade only with the most bang for the buck. Power is up higher in the rev range with a higher redline. Stage 2 single pulley is changing the pulley on the snout of the supercharger. Pulls even stronger near redline. Stage 2 Dual pulley changes the supercharger pulley and the engine pulley that drives it. More power down low. Slams you back in the seat like a big block. Doesn’t wind out quite as high as the earlier stages, but it’s hitting so hard throughout the range, who cares Stage 2+ is Stage 2 dual pulley with a larger throttle body, different intake pipe and a slightly different software. All of the above wants to shift at 7200 rpm. The factory TCU wants to shift at 6250 RPM. If you don’t reprogram the TCU, I would still do the other modifications because the difference over stock is huge.

Kevin, I am sure a reputable dealer like Cary Imports would not offer a vehicle that isn't mechanically and structurally sound, and in good working order overall. Which is the reason, when you review a high mileage high end automobile from Audi or other manufacturer that doesn't have the best reputation for long term reliability, I would be interested in knowing a little more about the maintenance history of these vehicles if available. That way a potential buyer who might be in the market, and taking advantage of the increasing depreciation rates, could get an idea of what to expect as far as maintenance costs go. I have heard for example, that timing belt changes on an Audi are very expensive. I am glad to see that you found it to still be solid at 100K, I mean 94K though. Another outstanding review, and thank you.

I tend to find the Kia Stinger too small, I’m only 5’6” and it feels like sitting in a Fiat 500. Due to lockdown the dealer is giving good deals on used vehicles. Just pushing them out of the way literally.

Thank you Sam but yea every car is built differently and will age differently I guess. I will always of course suggest getting a warranty with a car like this but yea I know a guy who bought a newish Corolla at the time and the transmission went out. I know another guy with a nearly 20 year old SLK Benz with 120k miles and no problems it’s really weird

@@MeynMotorGroup very frustrating!!! I seem to have terrible luck with cars. We have 4 large speed bumps every time we drive in and out of our house. Thank you for the excellent review about the Audi A7. I’ve been checking the 2012 model year, but I’ve heard the reliability can be pretty bad. Do you know how reliable they are? The reason I like the car because it offer the practicality of the hatchback but still very luxurious car. Thanks man.

Thanks so much for stopping by my friend. So I can't speak on reliability as I did not own this vehicle prior or any other Audi products, I would always suggest researching the forums for information on that. I would always suggest getting a warranty with a vehicle like this and that is why I review cars at this dealership because their warranties on euro cars like this are super cheap. I too love this car for the practicality and luxury of it. Again thank you for watching sir

I read a lot about A6's (same car, different shape). And everyone said that 3.0 TFSI is the way to go (or 3.0 TDI, if you are European). 8 speed auto is reliable, not so hard to repair, 3.0 TFSI has already proved itself (if you google engines of the year, you will find this engine year after year. It is there for a reason). Hope it helps. Also, you might as well consider CLS W218 as they are pretty good as well. But just my opinion.

qsn you are absolutely right, because consumer reports tried to do a review on the A7 but the sales were not enough when it came out. So they reviewed the A6 instead like you have said because it has the same Engine and transmission. Thanks for looking out man.

A7 is much more reliable than A6 (I drive a 2012 A7 after 2 older model A6s; electronic problems galore with the A6s, zero - 0, zilch - problems with my A7). It’s as this guy says: they are much more expensive than A6s and that’s not only due to being higher up the ladder, they are also better built.

I’ve had my A7 since 2013 and it first came out in 2012 not 2010. I’ve never had any problems with mines but I’ll say majority of Americans can’t afford these. Also the repair shops at Audi’s in the US doesn’t have quality repairmen. I moved to German in 2015 and shipped my car so it’s been driven on the autobahn and all for 4 years now. Again I’ve never had any mechanical problems. I also only drive German cars since my early 20s.
