Hi Scott, Please help me, I cant get this clip off the starter, I'm not sure what to do with the red tab, It moves forward and backward but the clip will not budge. Can you explain to me how to remove the clip

Hey Scott, thnx for the video, so the car doesn't have a starter relay?, its all about the solenoid?. I ask this cause mine, starts when its cold but sometimes when the engine i hot, It wont, you'll hear a single click sound and all panel lights, the battery is brand new with enough amps to start a truck. Its an Audi S4 B6 V8

Hi Scott. My audi a4 tdi 2008 has intermittent starting. Starts fine in morning. Go for a 5 min drive and turn it off, go to start it again and it cranks real slow or not at all. Leave it a couple of minutes and its fine like there was nothing wrong with it. Its like it has a flat battery when it does it. Its wierd, starter motor do you think? Has a new battery. Thanks

unfortunately its not the starter motor on my 2009 a4 push start not sure what it is and still looking!!

other tools for concideration graphing multi meter ...a multimeter with mine max function or a current clamp with mine max function

Hello Yes a voltage drop will work but I wanted to show when connected to the starter motor as the connection is behind a engine mount bracket ,testing at starter relay or wire feed would show that thanks for watching

nice video. I have a 98 a4 replaced fuel pump, battery, fuel relay, crank sensor and both cam sensors.. it used to crank before the cam sensors now just one loud click. all electronics work fine.. any ideas? I put the old cam sensors and same thing? no codes

J * hello try to turn the engine over with a ratchet at the crank by hand if ok check engine ground then power up starter motor from its relay

scott ScottMechanics thanks man, I just tested starter and is dead.. the engine will turn by the crank. I'm getting new starter tomorrow.. thanks

Hi im having a issue with my 1.9 tdi wont crank clicks and the dash goes off and reset the time to 0 checked grounds with jump leads and power drops on multimeter to 3.5v bad solenoid on starter?

Hello sounds like wiring live or ground you should have 12 volts at the starter Motor

Does it matter if I put a automatic starter on a manual Audi???

One has a flywheel one has a torque converter

Have a problem where my starter is turning (makes a whizzing sound when key is turned) but car is not cranking

Well yes I come to find out that Ebay sold me a bad starter i ended up buy a starter from the mechanic I had it all hook up right and everything bill cost me 450.00 dollars

Got start problem with my a4b6 had a look and the seloniod and there bit of play in it is it normal 👍

Hey I have a Audi A4 Quattro 2002. Before I took apart the car it was losing power around 40 mph and misfiring. I also heard whining from the fuel pump. So I replaced the fuel pump, injectors, coil pack and spark plugs. Now the car won’t start it will crank but won’t start. What could this be?

Slick Life check the fuse check if u got a short to ground circuit
