So it appears in your case the access control module has failed and is this something you would fix yourself or buy new?

My 06 A8L. My battery died with my truck open while I was using obdeleven to gain access to the green menu and restore my air suspension menu. I'm in the process of changing my water pump and timing belt so I can't start my car. I forgot to put it on the battery maintainer. The key is stuck, the word SAFE was on the trip odometer then the center heads up display turned all read, flashed a key with a slash through it and everything was dead. The battery in the key fob was dead as well. Recharged the battery and replaced the key fob battery. The button beside the key for the release is broken out and doesn't work. When I attached the battery the lights on the dash flash quickly and then they're gone. Turning the key does nothing. I can see the mileage and the MMI is still on and active. The e-brake seems to be working as well as the leveling button on the driver door. The car is in jack stands as well. The steering wheel doesn't lock either. Turning the key either way does nothing. Any suggestions

Hook it up to what cable

obd2 contakt 12+ and ground and +/- can but if the gateway dont get 12v ignition no com with diagnose.

gateway modul , the pins in the connector some times irr off. and then it vill not get the ignition 12v to start

So what was the problem? I have the same issue

If you have a Q5, check the wires near the ECU in the engine. I had a problem of no start, no shift to gear, transmission module not reading. Turns out there was corrosion all the way at the bottom. We applied 12v to the circuit and everything worked. A bitch to clean all the corrosion out but it worked.

Hi, I have a 214 SQ5 with a similar problem. What yeds is yours

Would a second hand unit just attaching the plugs to the second hand unit not bolted into place work so you can restart the car and get you home to be able to fix properly are they coded to each car or just relays so don't have to code the second hand unit this looks like a common problem with these cars so if you got a spare unit just plug it in and cable tie it up along side the original unit temporarily repaired just to start and get you home

let's says you change the whole steering wheel culmon and ignition with keys and cluster and ecu .is it going to work?

Did it end up being the Starting Access Control module (jb518)? I've been waiting for the local Audi dealer to get mine right. It's been two months and they're saying it's the Gateway BUS Control and that cost 1700+. Don't believe it's that. Any change you worked on an 2010 A5 and ever found it to be the Gateway/Bus Control module?

I have an 2007 Audi q7. My car has power but won't start. Not even go into gears. My radio comes on but not dash light, my dome lights on the inside come on. My battery is good, can anyone help me

2012 Audi A6 The head up display does not work. The mmi and radio, seats , locks work. The key fob does not work. It happened right after I took the car to get washed

End up taking the vehicle to the dealer. What i heard need a new Module located on the Right rear on the vehicle

I am going through the same thing, any update

I have this problem in my screen audi A4 2021 The screen didn’t respond to anything at all for about 15 days I go to the service center they take the car for 3 hours and they cant solve it then they take the car and said that it will take about 30 days to solve the problem my car is brand new I bought it for only 4 months why should i wait a month to solve this problem please i need a help

Unhook the negative battery cable for 30min and connect it back on. Its reset

All after battery died. Charged battery but cluster only show parking brake. Screen comes on to show miles. Mmi comes on to radi/Navi. But no start no crank etc.
