Thank you very much for responding in such a quick manner. I ordered the Works G-series today. They are going to jump through hoops just to get them to my door by this Friday. I ordered them with 2" of sag and told them that I am 10 lbs lighter then I am and that I am 42 years old and want a smooth ride. (The age is true) Thanks again, You guys are the best! Todd.

Well I know Highlifter does make a locking pin for it and I think it is like 29.99 but I have also heard keeping it in lock mode will damage it over time or wear out the clutches in the diff

Yes, dual a-arms, rolled rear a-arms, longitudinal engine, nice gauge package, cool racks and I'm sure I missed a few things - but can't wait to put some nice shocks on the XP - and some radials!

See our review on the Prairie 650 / I mean Brute Force 650 - it's been around for years and is bullet-proof and FUN.

Hi, Well I recieved my new Works shocks on Friday just as they promised. The fit and finish was a work of art. These shocks look beautiful! Well, I got a chance to go on a 60 mile trail ride for the test.... I LIKE THEM! They might be a little soft in the front and a little firm in the rear but I think I need a little more ride-time before I make that decision. They ride a lot more softer than the stock ones did and they give a more stable ride too. Thanks for helping me pick a great shock

There are several Works options. Call them and ask for the ATV Television build. Basically the shocks are made soft and with more sag. I wouldn't use wheels with more offset as they only add to the steering problems

While it can be a bit confusing in the times you mention, I think it's still the best method there is for a simple and quick lock of the front diff while on the move in the rough stuff.

Get some ITP wheels and tires. Makes ALL the difference, trust me.

Right now you have to buys the parts separately, but we are working on a total kit for the whole she-bang. Stay tuned. Doug

1st - The Bighorn's are great tires and will last for many miles, but are heavier and have stiffer sidewalls than the tires we usually run. Stiff and heavy effect the ride quality a lot and even afect the new shock's performance.. 2nd - Elka shocks have worked very well on all our sport machines but I have not found their low-speed, slow-going, soft-riding characteristics to be as good as the Works. But a lot of that may just be to getting a closer set-up to what we want on our trail machines.

@NubbyDodge Works shocks start at around 1200 for the set and go as high as around 3000. Check out the Works Performance website for more info

I think he'll find the full-locking front differential on the Brute Force a HUGE benefit in the muddy areas - especially compared to the Honda.

This project was built to be a great long-distance trail machine to ride for hours on end on the mountain trails out west, not the muddy waters of the southeast. If (or when) we build a mud machine we would certainly choose height over handling and mean over sweet ;-)

Is there an atv other than Honda that does have a good downward travel that necessarily doesn't need a better suspension?

Independent Rear Suspension. As opposed to what is called a Solid or Swingaxle rear suspension. Doug

Oh and one last thing lol....In all respect you mentioned you rate ATV's on how you like them to ride and feel, but the thing is not everyone wants a atv to ride smooth and low and be like a Cadillac so to speak but instead some like them rough and mean and capable of anything.......Just my two cents lol

I Have a 2005 750i Brute. I need your advice on my shock purchase. I have 25" Bighorn radial tires I want to have a softer ride with better handling. Which brand would give me a softer ride (ELKA VS WORKS) (I have Elka's on my z400 and I only like them when I am going very fast..Rough ride at slow speed) I value your opinion because I know that you have ridden the Brute with both brands. Please respond. Thanks, Stockstinks.

@YOUGOTROFLPWNED We have three favorites, the King Quad, the Grizzly, and the Brute Force. Each has a few better features, and each a few not-so-good. YOu can go to our website where all our (over 550) videos are categorized and you can watch just those tests and see what we have to say.

I think the pull in lift pin for the diff lock on a BF 750 is a very poor design compared to say Polaris or Yamaha and the reason I think that is because say you also have a handle bar mounted winch and are trying to use the winch, throttle, diff lock and steer at the same time it is very difficult......They needed to put more thought into that design

the stock 08 suspension was down right dangerous. go a little off camber that a sra wouldn't sweat and the suspension and shit tires fold right under the machine. and it tips. Elka suspension and GBC stiff wall tires made it handle like a sra.

Probably more tires than anything. SRAs are known for their stability. Stock tires are known for their desire to roll over and play dead :-)
