I remember Michael Prince presenting the links between programmes. A time when we lived at a different pace, the presenter was friendly and reassuring and a few seconds of dead air time was acceptable. Goodnight and you won’t forget to switch off your computers will you!

Nicely put when he mentoned returning from Spain to the ATV Region for the Weather Forecast.

It would appear that ATV, like LWT and (I think) TVS, didn't go in-vision at closedown when they did at other times in the evening. I wonder why?

You don't see local advertising seen here anymore, or even community messages.

Is it known whether ATV were using their electronic clock at this point? Or did it just not appear for this closedown?

Wondered the same thing myself. Probably it had broke down or there was a technical issue with overlaying it.

I think that was not used until 1980.

@@dooplissanimatewhy would you think that? The hardware used to generate it - which was a feature of a time code character generator for the Ampex AVR2 - was introduced in 1974 and installed at ATV a couple of years later.

2:45 - ironically the american comedian george burns lived to be exactly 100 years old!
