Attempting 30,000 km across the world, with my dog, on foot
Lucy Barnard is making an attempt to become the first woman to walk the length of the Earth. It's a 30 000 km journey from the bottom of Argentina to the top of Alaska. She travels with her dog, Wombat, who is possibly on the longest dog walk of all time! This film is about crossing Peru, along 500 year old roads, known today as the Incan Trails.

Lucy amazing job... I actually came over this as i myself was searching for advice over internet on travelling alone and on foot.. and your story really motivated me and gave me a push to do it. Hopefully i will be doing this soon too.
That was a great recap of your journey Lucy , I’m looking forward to following the rest of your adventures 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thinking about traveling all of Canada alone on foot so thank you for sharing your journey. Noting what I can ect.
Hi Lucy! We are all incredibly proud of you, and I'm looking forward to seeing the next chapter in your adventure. I'm saving your videos to show to my niece. She's a bit too young to understand the enormity of your accomplishment as she's only 3 years old right now, but I think you're a fantastic role model and an example of what she'll be able to achieve when she puts her mind to it (though she is already demonstrating her incredible determination and tenacity by emotionally manipulating her uncle into secretly giving her slices of mango when her mum isn't looking). We love you Lucy! Go get 'em! =)

@@LucyBarnard may I also ask, how are you powering your phone and computer for making these videos? Are you pulling some sort of solar panel and battery setup with you?
@LucyBarnard
2 ай бұрын
@@WindsongPodcast solar panels aren’t very practical for hiking because they work directionally and I’m both walking and using my devices during the day. They’re also heavy. I just carry a 20,000mAp battery.

@LucyBarnard I see. And that works because you're not only camping along the way right? You're renting rooms some of the time? I camp out of a van some of the time and keep two 20000 mah battery banks, two 60w power delivery charging blocks, and two USBC to USBC cables in my backpack. I find that if I recharge them when they're half empty it only takes a couple of hours, and I've been told that keeping them at least half full makes them live longer. Do you do your videos with a phone only? I don't imagine that one 20k mah battery would power a laptop for very long, or even a tablet.
I feel like I'm at the movies🤣
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was following your journey pre-covid and I'm so looking forward to watching you resume and reunite with wombat! I have to say it was jarring to see you walk past 3 swastikas graffitied on the sides of buildings in small town Peru. Is that common to see there?

@@LucyBarnardI beg to differ. Walking to Texas or California is “walking to the USA”. Walking to the northern most tip of Alaska is quite a different scenario. You sold yourself short here. If I walk from Melbourne to cape York I didn’t just walk to qld did I 😅. You should be proud of your goals achievements and celebrate / advertise them correctly. Always say the entire length of both American continents. Well done!
