Should have came up with another opening for the previous season. Plus every other part had it's own opening. I'm fine with no opening honestly.

It's the best way to do it. They will not rush the remaining story, they will work on the ending more with time, and it makes it a big event to look forward too.

if its gunna be around 2hrs of content wouldnt you rather a full high quality movie for Christmas rather than split it in 2? imagen 'Mugen Train' cut in half and being made to wait 6 months for part 2..

@@rollzmoist5061 Yeah, but we will be waiting for it to be legally released around a year later for international release. Plus, people will have to pay just to see it ASAP. That loses the inclusivity of the series, unlike the rest of the series. I'd rather have what we got now.

I don't really care about the time format, since I would binge the episodes anyway. It makes sense to me, that at this point in the story, a one hour episode could facilitate the storytelling better than trying to break it up into three episodes.

Agreed. Breaking up the episodes in the most action packed part of the story would be kinda tedious and disrupt the flow

The aftermath was rushed in Manga. I hope they elaborate that in the anime and for that they'll need more runtime. Cour 2 is going to cover Chapter 135 to 139.5 (5.5 chapters). So for an elaborated ending, they'll have to make it atleast 1 hr 20 mins long. Anything less than that would disappointing. I hope Mappa doesn't cut corners with the ending.

That summs it up perfectly! For it's contents i very much enjoyed the manga's ending, but the rushed delivery and not giving emotionally resonant moments the time to breathe, that they need to _really_ hit, let me understand quite well, why there were so many people upset about it. Hope the anime can use it's advantages (music, movements, colors and the experiences learned from the manga's release and it's aftermath) to the fullest to bring the series, that was beloved by so many, back to their hearts.

I hope they change the ending if they actually want people to read the manga, the manga revealed 2 endings, one of which was a peaceful one and another one involved the death of one by the hands of someone they love. the anime ending should be different or I won't be watching a train crash again and wait for another final season part 5 or something

I wonder if there's any chance the final part coming later in the year could have a theatrical release also! I would love to see it in the theater! I doubt it, but it would be awesome!

I think this really fits. I kinda saw it coming because MAPPA really made S4 look like a continuous movie. I'm hoping they know what it takes to really knock this out of the part. Also gets the hype out there immediately and all at once for the last episode. Maybe the finale will be even longer?

This is best way to do it why, well we all know AOT has a knack for gaving us alot of cliffhangers and by doing this it give us the viewers a better and clearer understanding on how this story unfolds and ends.

I'm still hoping that the anime ending fixes some of the issues people have with the manga ending (I haven't read the manga, just heard from friends who have that the ending doesn't conclude all of the character arcs well)

nah I like the ending and Isayama accepted the fact that not everyone will like it, so I believe they won't change anything. However, I do hope the animation will go more in-depth since to me the last few pages of the manga seemed a bit rushed.

@@silentsiren4797 i agree. i feel like mappa are really good at expanding on scenes to make them feel more alive, especially scenes that in manga form would be 1 or 2 panels for example, they did a really good job with aki's morning routine in chainsaw man, which wasn't in the manga. so i have high hopes they will flesh aot's later chapters out aswell, without changing the main plot points

I’d gladly wait a long time for the end. Ik the end so I’m not as anxious to know what happens. For me, what matters is the quality of these scenes bc they’re so important so I’m glad they’re taking their time.

A full movie would have been better in my book, but this format is certainly better than weely releases considering how little content is there left to be adapted.

I think the plan was to release it as a long 2 hour movie but they delayed the second half maybe idk. But movie style should mean better quality. Should have delayed the first part as well and made it a movie. Would have been nice to go into a theatre packed full aot enthusiasts and cheer/cry together for whatever happens in the last few chapters. Holy fuck this is being dragged out so godamn much. I was LITERALLY a freshman when part 1 of S4 came out and I’ll be graduating soon, I’ll be graduated before the second “long episode” comes out. Let that sink in for a second. 4 years. It’s taken them almost 4 years to come out with the entire season 4. This heavily reminds me of 343 industries using covid as an excuse to work on halo very very slow, and now covid has been a thing of the past, yet still working at that same snail’s pace.

Yeah I do think so. CSM anime wasn’t as well-received as they anticipated in Japan… but I can think of a few series (MHA cough cough) that only *properly* blew up in season 2. CSM did enough to earn that s2 in my opinion

(Manga Spoiler) Bro I also have a theory from watching your AOE video that the panel in the final chapter in which Grisha holds Eren and tells him that he is free is actually Eren from another timeline(Anime Timeline) saying that to his child with Historia or more likely with Mikasa after the battle is finished and there is some kind of a happy ending because that panel was originally what Isiyama planned to be the final page of the manga

That sucks so bad... now instead of getting a little bit each week now we are gonna watch half in one go and then WAIT AGAIN AND AGAIN... I bet that second episode will air probably in December... It kinda feels like they are mad that this franchise ends and they will milk it completely dry. I'm extremely disappointed :( LOL i even bet that they will split the second episode to two parts and we will have to wait till Q2 of 2024 for part 2.
