Hey Ken! FPVKermyt here with a pro-tip for you. If you know you are going to be flying over water. Tie an empty water bottle on your drone. it will provide enough buoyancy to keep your quad from sinking to the bottom. Note though that it is at the mercy of the currents at this point so YMMV.

KZread sure knows what to put into my recommended list... I can literally feel that man's pain cuz a week ago my mini 2 fell into a river after crashing into power lines. I was lucky enough to find it after spending a whole hour in a cold water. It wasn't deep. The water's level was up to my knee but it was muddy and I couldn't see what was at the bottom. Had to scan all the surface with my feet and hands. Even though I found it, I'm not sure it will survive being underwater for so long with power on. I hope Chris will find his drone one way or another. Good luck!

Do the electronics totally fry?? Reason I ask is I am interested in a broken drone for cheap for a project. The plastic can be broken well beyond repair, wires can be broken the PC boards could be damaged a little. I need functionality to sending control signals to the motors. Currently I need compatible with a Mini 2 controller, but would consider a package of controller with the broken drone. Old old models definitely considered. Project has nothing to do with drones, just long range communication of controller and the electronics. Cheers

Ken, I noticed you were flying that non-DJI drone with your DJI V2 goggles - is that correct? If so, it appears you went from mirroring the phone's display of DJI's flying app onto the V1 goggles' screen a few years ago, to this. I'm guessing the Caddx setup allows you to do this without the need for a wireless HDMI transmitter, but I'd like to try and get the DJI Mini 2 to work with the V2 goggles. Do you know how this could be done, despite DJI's unhelpful comments ("Not at this time")? Thanks!

Can one attach to a drone some kind of lightweight and tiny flotation device that can immediately self-inflate to a huge balloon upon detection of water?

Sucks Chris lost his quad but what an adventure to try and find it. Thank goodness for vodka find. Haha

never disarm , always try to give it some throttle and a last effort to level. i made a mistake last week to leave the hatch from my session 5 , drone went in water and session 5 was no more. i was lucky that my air unit survived so i only had to swap FC and ESC and a new session5 , 1 of the motors is a bit rough so i might replace all of them and keep the 3 good one as spare

@ 3:35 a buddy and I are some times at each for whoever comes closest to crashing our drones the hardest (whether that be due to bad area surveying and making sure there are few to none obstacles to worry about), but he really wants to get into FPV droning and this scene leading up to Ken saying "Glad it weren't me, hahahaha" is what will be my taunt to him.

Send in the dog to retrieve it. Felt sorry for Chris superchats to the rescue!!
