Hey Dan, where would you put GPS and economy mods? I put them below background mod and above sound mods. It made sense to me since they kinda embodies all according to your analogy. My game runs smoother, thanks a bunch!

Hey Dan. I’m new to ATS and I’ve been trying to download some truck mods. But I have no mod dealer is this cause I haven’t discovered every dealer also on the steam workshop it was difficult to find actual truck mods it was mostly skins. Thanks in advanced.

Is there a required format of the mods besides maps coming last or is it mainly "I want to keep my stuff organized so this is how I do it" type thing?

It has nothing to do with how an individual wants to organize things and everything to do with computer "logic". A computer is a simple device at its core. If things aren't where it expects to find them it crashes. The mod load order is the way it is for a reason.

Hey Dan, me and a buddy are trying to use Jon Ruda's trucks in multiplayer we both have the mods but it says missing mods (local) and or absent on server but I do have them enabled do you know what may be causing this? is it the order we have them in? im going to rework the order and put it similar to yours and see if that fixes it

Check the item description in your mod manager. The little "i" icon. The name of both trucks in the description line has to be identical. Most common is that one may have underscores spacing the words and one won't causing the problem. Also, once you are sure you both have it right, you need to both exit the game entirely and verify game files. Go back into the game and see if the issue has been resolved.

How do you skin overfloater"s k100e cabover. What UV are you using and what cab. Also I thought you had to have Ruda's mods in the order that he put out

Hi Michael, I believe I use Alt UV for the K100. I like to use the VIT cab. That is, the VIT with the forward front axle. In the shop when you purchase the truck the blue one top right. The other three have the set back front axle. There is a different xml file for each type. If you aren't painting stripes that follow the wheel opening, you can use the same template for both chassis types. I put Ruda's mods in the order he recommends with the exception that I don't put them above all other mods. I do what I show in the video and it works great. I don't put a lot of trucks in a profile though, rather, ia have a lot of profiles with 2 or 3 trucks each.

So when it says to load a mod above another one, that means the way it looks in the list or the way the game loads, from bottom up?

That can be confusing can't it. People generally refer to as above being on top as viewed in the mod manager as opposed to being loaded before the other item as in from bottom up.

I remember running it once but I can't remember what other map mods I had going in that profile. Are familiar with the GMC Logistics guys? They do nothing but sort out and test map mod combinations.

I have real brands, advertisements, billboards, gas prices, and signs mods from the Steam Workshop and map mods I downloaded on Firefox. Do I put the Steam mods above the maps or below? My game keeps crashing.

Follow the load order I show in the video. Where the mod came from is irrelevant. They are grouped by mod characteristics not who made them or where you got them.

Hi, I have a question. How did you purchase Jon Ruda’s truck mods? I have been trying and I get failed transactions. Banks says it’s because of it being an international transaction. How did were u able to purchase them?

I had the same problem, I personally went through Paypal rather than paying it directly through my bank. Worked afterwards like a charm.

Right the top of the order.

there are more and more compatibility files in packs or for trucks, what should be there postion, at the trucks directly? some are for more than one truck, but for a basic model. thought assessories should be at part of wheels. I hope to find the right places now. my game is crashing all time. logs got errors I cant find which is problem. some errors say only no description of mod and set default data. same if settings are missing.

It can be really confusing. Are you following the order I show here? If so and it still crashes. Consider joining my Discord. We should be able to help you there.

The mod manager has an area called "CATEGORY" and it has a list from the top down that start's with truck, then trailer's and pretty much follow's the order you suggest, clicking on trucks, all your truck mod's show up, then click on trailer's and all your trailer mods show up. I've know idea when it's as important as it is. Map's are on the list about half way down the list. Installing them as suggest by the list in the category. Menaing putting maps some where in the middle of the activation list. Will cause the game to go to desk top. Though you have way more mod's acativated than I have to choose from, let alone activate. I listened not to the mods you have but paid close attention to the grouping. Those having less mod, becasue I've only one truck, no actual trailer', followed your categorical order to the "T". And boom, my mod's actually do as they are designed. And for the first time in some 1500 hour's of play. My straight pipe's actually work. THANK YOU!!!

You're welcome. I've learned to shut everyone out and just do this order scenario. There are people out there saying what I am saying as well. But there seems to be a lot of confusing information getting to people before they find one of us reasonable ones. Leads to a lot of heartache for folks new to the game. Mod makers are partly to blame with some of their installation instructions. It's like they are the only modders on the planet and their mods should be put on a pedestal above all else. K, rant over.

Thx for this, helped a new player out :) Where would you put graphics into this? Jbx, project next-gen ect...

JBX goes right at the top of the mod order with only the background map above it.

JBX goes right at the top above everything else. Other graphics mods work well under sounds.

Maybe I missed it but, where would I place JBX? Just above the maps?

JBX would go at the very top of the mod order.

Does this really make a difference? I'm not trying to sound crazy but I drop my mods in any order because I don't understand load order all that well. like when one says it needs top priority I put it on the top but according to this video it should have been on the bottom. I've never had a problem doing it this way. I would even have C2C on the top and everything else well anywhere. the game worked just fine. I'm just trying to get confirmation from someone who does it the "right" way to give me insight on if I should reevaluate my mods order. Please and thanks in advanced

Not sure if you found your answer already but it definitely matters/ Especially when loading trucks with multiple files. Out of order mods can cause graphical errors and crashing

@@YourMomsEnemy ok I started putting trucks down on the bottom or top according to the game I don’t really use map mods like that if I did I’d put them in first. I try to follow the order they are supposed to be in but I have a lot of mods so it’s hard to determine where they should be

Are some of the legacy sleeper trucks outdated I have the cascadia legacy sleeper it's the only one I don't have problems with I want to have all of them but most of them don't get updated to the current game version

I'm not sure Nick. I generally drive mod trucks that represent my taste for older styled trucks. I like and support modders that keep their stuff up to date. I haven't really tried any Legacy Sleeper mods other than the occasional one that came with a recent mod purchase. I really like the mini motorhome aspect of them but boy, do the wheel bases get long!

If I've made changes to them they have to be used. Mudflaps, engines and transmissions for example. If I haven't tweaked them, they aren't used.

Hey I enjoyed this video it really makes more sense now but I am still having issues trying to get pro mods Canada and canmaina to connect I have Alaska connected but between Golden BC and Kamloops it won't

@@rsgaming9646 I guess you could try running everything he is and see if it works. If you get it working you could then try pulling things out one at a time and see when it breaks again then put that mod back in again.

Yes, cargo mods should go above lights etc and below sounds. I usually put them below things like real advertising and other environmental mods which I put below sounds. I consider things like weather and logos as "environmental"

I never had problems with the game crashing until i started putting external mods in, ill have to try this and see if it works

Mod order is critical. If you follow the video, your game will run fine. I've had over 200 mods in one profile but I like to keep them down to 50 - 100.

when i start my game ,,when you get to the grage screen its so dark in my game its hard to see , im not sure whats up ,, i tryed taking the mods out it just gets darker,, thought it might be my vid card , but when i go to my disktop its fine,, its gotta be a game prob, but im at a loss of what to do,, u got any

Can you just try creating a new profile and see if that changes anything? You could also try verifying game files. Do you know how to do that?

@@danmcnarry i did figure out i cant play with open gl or anything alse but safe mode,,the game has aprob with a vovol truck mod,,its just being weard,, i used this vid to re order my mods,,my bigest issue is the just shoots me back to the main screen in the middle of a run,, i love the game i just hate the way its acting right now,and i dont know how to fix it :(

@@oogie-boogie Make sure that if you are taking truck or trailer mods out of your active profile to sell them first. If you don't the game is still looking for them on start up and will crash. It might be time to try a new profile. I have a tutorial on that and how to get some cash into it with the TS SE Tool.

I still can't seem to get it right, can anyone help explain why it's from "bottom up" when the buttons say increase and decrease priority? I am having issues with loading AI that I wasn't having before also and can't get the order right lol. Thanks for all your content and help

The computer reads it from bottom up. I have no idea why people keep making it difficult with their wording. If you just follow what I show here, your game will run the best that it can given your hardware. If you go with what individual mod makers say, your game will run poorly. I think they all think they have the only or best mod and it has to be at the top of the order and blah blah blah! Even Ruda does it. I'm tired of hearing it. I've been doing it like I show here for a long time and it works great. I also have a video out on cloning and managing profiles. I break my truck mods down to pairs or even single mod makers to keep all the conflicts to a minimum. I'm glad you are enjoying the content. Thank you.

I have been watching your videos and using your order despite my brain saying the top is highest priority cus that's what the buttons say and I am having issues following your method, was just wondering if there was something I was missing or if I just have to keep moving them around for them to work....half of my AI tires are just un rendered purple lol

If the only difference is mod order, there will be an option to "activate session mods".

how order works is confusing, game loads from down to top. thats why it begins with map end down. some write own descruption for rowing mods in manager, but it gets confusing when using many mods.

Goes against common sense to think highest priority would be at the bottom. You may ask why. Well because SCS made the mod manager and to place a mod in the highest priority you use the 2 options at the bottom, and to increase a mods priority it moves the mod up the list not down the list. But I always say whatever works best ya:)

yes i agree that messed me up it clearly says increase/decrease priority so increase makes it high and decrease low common sense there but that did mess me up a min i agree with what you said

Jimmy, could be but once you get a steady map mod order it's pretty much something you can forget about. What is important is what you do around game updates. I also have a tutorial on how to go in and out of beta and also copying editing and saving profiles. Sounds like a lot but is actually really easy. You also should be aware of map updates as they they come along. Keep them up to date.
