    yep, very true if your one of those ppl who always tail gate and speed like a bat out of hell you should not be driving a truck till you learn to get rid of those bad habits because that shit could kill someone or yourself..some ppl dont understand to put the trailer's Weight and size into the picture when driving those trucks...so if you break lots of driving laws then you shouldn't be a truck driver

I didn't let the school pass me along at their pace..my school has over 80 students we're basically fighting for drive time.... But God!!! For some reason the past two weeks 80% of the class has been missing so I've been able to get the proper training that I should've been getting day 1!!

    cbra66 it also takes a trainer wanting to train the right way and not just for the money, to get out of that passenger seat and help a new student back in, but this guy has yet to say he got out and helped his student back, like I said all I see anymore is trainers to afraid to get out and help back in, and what pissed me off is I come out of the truck stop and seen the driver was in a bad situation to back into a spot and it was dark where they was and I stood out in the cold 10 degrees helped that driver while the trainer stood up in the bunk and watched, I asked is this your trainer? They said yep, so trainers anymore is out here only for the money nothing else or there ass would be out of that truck helping every time period.

    Duvar Davis When I got my CDL a while back, man my trainer didn't even let me back into a truck stop but I had experience backing a little though. All I learn was the paper work and elog system etc. Some schools expect you to already have backing down. I had to help out a few drivers a these truck stops while the trainer is right in the truck with them.

    I know the exact position you are in. I trained a guy that got his license and he got hired. He couldn't shift with or without a clutch. He couldn't find the gears. I had to train him how to drive the truck and unload. He scared me and I let the bosses know. They said do your best and had him for 3 weeks. When they turned him loose he lasted a full 2 weeks. I tried to tell them the first week he didn't need to be driving but the bosses would not listen. They figured it out when they saw the truck he wrecked.

    I thought if you get an automatic only truck license that is the only thing tyou can drive unless you apply for another? Could a truck driver that drives out of state all over the country only do automatic or is that really limiting the jobs?

    @@RalphERo824 How did he get his license if he could not do that?That makes no sense. I know how to drive both on a normal car but when you drive anywhere with hills where you have to stop all the time having a manual transmission sucks. Even in a normal car when you at a red light of a steep hill the moment i let go of the brake I feel like I will hit the car behind me. Drive in San Francisco as an example. I assume most freeways are flat obviously and they do not have many stops where a truck will go backwards into the vehicle behind it but I would think automatic would be safer. I am not hating on manual transmissions since on flat roads it is fine or if you want to go faster they are better.

  • @RalphERo824

    @RalphERo824

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants the "automatic" is not an actual automatic like a car. It still is a manual transmission that has one part automatic and it engages the clutch and changes the gears on the manual transmission. They found out a long time ago that a true automatic lasts a month in tractor trailers. The heat burns the clutches up in an auto. Also if you take your test in the stick shift you have no restrictions on your license. If you drive for most companies today they have the auto shifters now so you can forget the mechanics of shifting a stick. I almost never use the clutch when in town. I use solely the gears and a little brake. Years of driving a stick have taught me how to shift in traffic. So now you know that tractor trailers are not typical automatics. Hope it helps.

    Bro stay away from them Carl jr, Popeyes, Arby’s, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, petro and TA buffets, matter fact don’t even park or sleep at a truck stop just go to a rest area trust me when I tell you the food at those truck stops are no good for you I can promise you that!! Ever since I started trucking 13 years ago I gained 100 lbs went from 165 to 265 now I’m down to 200 all by not drinking anymore soda, coffee, energy drinks basically any drinks with sugar I don’t care if the brand had zero after its name I also stayed away from all that processed junk on the road so now I fast for 7-14 so basically mean I don’t eat nothing for 14 days wanna imagine how much money I saved... a lot and when I’m not fasting I eat only 1 meal a day with no carbs man I’m telling you looking at you is like looking at me believe me trucking is not fun being overweight even though 90 percent of truckers are being overweight will cause health problem it’s a fact and It’s quite dangerous to be on the road overweight because our fat asses get to fucking sleepy too damn fast smarten up take control right now I’m telling you and every other trucker here that thinks they are experiencing weight issues

    Steven trucker: you sound lke you got kicked off a truck by your mentor at one time or another. You sound like a real advocate for this student that was kicked off the truck due to safety concerns. Can you relate? You were prolly kicked off a truck too. You sound like a salty lil bitch. If you got kicked off the truck and had to try again oh well. But don’t come in here and talk shit like you know what the fuck went on because you don’t know shit.

    I understand, obviously he is not cut out to drive a big rig, I was never scared, I just drove, my trainer felt comfortable enuf to go in the bunk and sleep within the first hour, but, I had previous experience, so, it was all good. So, if you felt unsafe, I would do the same thing. Screw that!

    Rewind Devine nah man that’s a NONO! especially real weed lol, THC vape pen maby lol since it dosint smell but then state troopers will rape u if they find any weed. I took my CDL test 2 times sober and I failed, I took it the 3rd time and I smoked before,I was so relaxed that I actually passed the test, I still smoke so I’m not out there on the road but it’s crazy how they will allow some paranoid sober goofy over somebody that smokes a little of weed but hey I don’t make these rules

    I was the same way when I first started driving not gonna lie. It’s because I was not only scared cause it was my first time out on the road but I was not used to the wind blowing me side to side at times and it really REALLY threw me off, while my trainer was kicking back and sippin some tea like he’s on vacation or something I’m over here having an panic attack lmao I didn’t understand how he was used to it but now that I’ve been driving for a long time I look back and laugh at that little situation. If I was that kids mentor I would’ve understood exactly how he was feeling and helped him.

    joe rond I understand. But I would’ve been able to relate to that driver because I was like that once so I believe he deserves a chance to get his shit together and learn all he can. Not everyone would agree but every trucker is different. When people are struggling to back in some places nobody gets out to try and help that driver so of course they wouldn’t help a guy like this either.
