I don't know if people realize how much actually goes into this kind of production. As if animating the characters isn't hard enough, there's the backgrounds, the pacing of the scenes, the writing itself, the sound design, the music, the voice acting, set design, prop design, character design Every single thing I am seeing and hearing that to be made from scratch. And the fact that it was not only done, but done well, is actually ridiculous. The determination of the human spirit never fails to take me by surprise Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment! Edit: I really love this villain (or I assume he is?) @@day1860I deleted my previous comments because I didn’t know how to put my thoughts into words or describe why I felt that way. I agree your comment is completely right, but maybe they should tweak the first episode and make some changes. Also the episode is just so boring to watch, and it takes 30 minutes to watch it all, not all of us have time on our hands like that. Also the “Awkward moments” is what makes the first episode so bad. Here are some things that they could change. Scene: Stealing Spaceship. 1: She makes a the smallest noise, takes him an abnormal amount of time to say hey what was that? 2: They walk away for like 5 seconds and she can now suddenly stomp and run her way there? 3: The sizing of the spaceships is very weird when she enters, first they’re fun size and in the next they’re bigger than her. But as to be expected, not even that bad though. 4: you know what is bad? They’re security measures, this is where things go horribly wrong from the scene. She goes to the spaceship and the alarm goes off because she stepped over the white box or something. There’s just no security in sight, like at all. Where did they go? I mean for a futuristic place with thousands worth of equipment there should be some security. This just removes the suspense from the scene and making it overall a really boring experience. And excuse me? Where did you learn how to fly a spaceship? Isn’t this your first time? At least say you learned from KZread. There’s not even a lick of security when she exits, or even a security measure after the alarms go off. Like make the place go in lock down, notify the police? Something at least! It would be way better if she snuck in with guards inside the building like checking camera while she’s sneaking to steal the spaceship trying not to make noise, and then failing, them calling other guards or police to come to area. And she escapes, damaging the ship in the process because this is her first time flying and security should have security measures. Scene: Security Checkpoint 1: When he blind folds the guy, at first he screams like a maniac. And then is suddenly just chill with it? 2: when the other security people see that their friend is being kidnapped, they just stare in awkward silence until one guy comes up and is like what is happening. You signed up for the job, shouldn’t you be a trained professional? Say something! I know it doesn’t happen often but have common sense, is everyone an introvert? Only then she calls for backup. 3: when he runs over, he just runs in silence not yelling or anything for her to stop. 4: When she escapes the police were notified, yay! Finally they did something right! A chase scene we love to see it! Oh wait… uhm… what the fuck? Are… this is the most chill chase scene I’ve ever scene. Shouldn’t you be panicking more? And the police, and shouldn’t you be dodging or something and not be going in a straight line? But oh wait! I forgot! The police don’t have any security measures because I’m sure no one has ever done this before. So instead of shooting at them or something they decide to slowly chase behind and do absolutely nothing.

I just feel like they could’ve worked on those scenes better. Also in the chase scene it doesn’t even feel like they’re going fast, they’re just chillaxing. Idek. Space is one of those things beyond human comprehension and that's what makes it so magical. I've always loved the idea of a massive open space filled with pure light and other elements, rather than it scaring me, i find it comforting. We as a species are still trying to explore those parts probably never seen by organic life before, we don't know if we're really alone. I think that's why i fall in love with outerspace sci-fi media like this, being able to literally escape to a world far different from this one or just drifting through the stars.. it's a dream i'll never reach. But for the time being, i'll just keep listening to glittery outerspace-y, Steven Universe-esque music, shift into those realities when subconcious and follow this absolutely *beautifully animated series.*

I think the writing could be a bit more graceful in places--there are times characters Tell us stuff that would have made more sense Shown, or could have at least been exposited more subtly, and some of the events feel a little contrived/rushed through (like Atlas easily escaping the station, Tall Guy not trying harder to stop her while they flew), but a lot of those issues may actually be limitations of storyboard/animation. Some compromises have to be made when it's a one-person animator. Like, they could have animated a complicated sequence of them fighting over the controls harder before she either subdues him or the pressure of the speed forces him to strap in, but that's harder to animate! Likewise, the bit where Atlas and Tall Guy go in a circle would be better sold with a whole montage, and wouldn't require her to clarify to the audience, "Aaand we went in a circle", but that also takes way more time and animation to pull off. I think minor contrivances/rushjobs like that are really common in pilots, where people are still figuring out the limits of each episode, where they're still learning what they have time for and what absolutely needs to be conveyed at all costs. The writing may start to feel more deft as we get further in.

Your proposal just wastes time because her reaction already made sense and it adds nothing to the narrative.

I also agree that some of the writing is a bit clumsy at times, and the dialogue especially could have left the viewer with more to infer as opposed to stating information outright, so that the subtext can do the heavy lifting when the story hits more emotional moments. But there’s an energy to this pilot that’s absolutely infectious to me - the creator’s passion for the story and its character shines through so clearly that it’s honestly inspiring. I’ve come back to rewatch this several times since it came out because it gives me hope that I could make something similar one day. The show is absolutely greater than the sum of its parts so far and I’m really excited to see where it goes

I really like the concepts and art style. The writing needs a bit more of the "Show, don't tell" narrative technique. Too often, the story beats were told to us instead of shown. I think some of the planets eating stuff would have been better conveyed through subtext instead of directly stating his motivation. However, a lot was crammed into this one episode. I love how the characters' personalities were shown and the voice acting is very impressive and I look forward to seeing what's next (Edit) Omg you animated this by youself, THATS AMAZING.

I like this story so much. The characters have creative designs, the problems they run into are believable, and their personalities make sense! This story has a lot of reminiscence to She-Ra, and I can tell you likely grew up watching it. I don't know if you want criticism for things so far at all, but there definitely were some story beats that just didn't hit home for me! I already feel bad for our clear antagonist, with the "I am missing my family and planet" arc being introduced as a retribution concept so early, and especially as their countenance changes so rapidly through the story in a rather bipolar fashion from guarded and mean to vulnerable. It's only your first episode, and I think you could definitely introduce them as an outright terrible guy. The beats in some areas feel rushed, especially the "fight, timeskip, okay i guess we're working together" scene. It almost feels like it didn't need to happen- it would have left some time to extend the gag of not understanding a handshake or something. However, don't take these criticisms as a mark of failure. You've only just made your first huge public content, and these are the marks of someone learning how to structure a story. Leaning on some cliches here and there is expected and feels good to see! I loved Atlas especially for her inventive and rebellious attitude, she really reflects a lot of my own nature. I can't wait to see more about this and maybe even a little fan community form around it! Please don't ever stop doing what you love.

I'd like to start out by saying the animation is wonderful, and the voices are a very good fit the characters. However, the dialogue could use quite a lot of work, and a lot of it is unnecessary, besides being riddled with generic sentences where the dialogue could simply be removed oe expressed differently. Many of these scenes could largely benefit from the good ol' "show don't tell", and I am not one to usually believe that this is an absolute rule, just very useful in cases like this. The storyboarding could use some polish around dialogue as well, the deliveries are sometimes built dry because of it. I'd also like to say that the worldbuilding has a lot of potential, and I'd love to see it more explored! Either way, nice work everyone! I hope to see more!

It's a masterpiece, I'm fully hooked with the characters and oh the antagonist! Yes, we needed this. The animation in itself is expressive and stunning. The story telling is off to a great start and the moments of humanity [THAT MANY STUDIOS FORGET TO ADD] are so REAL.
