I'm glad that while watching this review that my interest in the game is still high! The lack of fulfillment from Elf Creek has so far not soured me on this game. Let's hope they can sort out their financial troubles soon and get the games into backers hands 😊

Great to finally see it in the flesh, shame it's not in my hands still after 2.5 years. No idea if it'll ever get delivered to backers either, but I believe that Brent is still plugging away at it. Fingers crossed he gets it over the line one day.

@@BoardGameCo if you are in any contact with Brent - please tell him that communication is crucial in this situation. Almost 2 months since the last update just creates more frustration - and a simple one, like "I managed to ship X copies" would be really helpful.

Elf Creek is still around? I’ve given up on receiving my games form them. I backed in 2021/2022. They seem to have gone MIA

Yes they are and they post regularly about the challenges they have had.

Base game is one of my fav coop. Sorry to hear that many backers haven't received their copies yet. I'm one of the lucky ones and got it 4 months; still in shrink tho. Gonna print the insert today to store everything in one box.

How does the difficulty compare to the base game? Do the monstrosities and allies balance out or is it a lot harder? Also, could you play with just the allies and not the monstrosities?

For the most part it seemed to be balanced enough...which is mainly to say I didn't find the game easier or harder. I hadn't tried using one without the other so I can't comment on that.

Did you back the game? I can't even find a place that sells this, everything only shows are preordered.

Atlantis Rising has been on my want to buy list for a while. I should just buy it already. Our game group would love an up to 7 player co-op game.

I think it will fulfill, but sadly that's not a guarantee.

I enjoy this expansion. The base game is one of my favorites. The campaign will always mar this one for people though. I hope the best for Elf Creek, but im worried about their financial status. I worry that the other 2 projects that they have will not get fulfilled.

I think the new expansion is good. It sure elevates the game play from the base game. But it sure also elevated the complexity and the setup and tear down. One thing that always has annoyed me with the game. There is a lot of text. So you easily forgets what different cards, leaders, components, allies and monsters. It’s weird they don’t use iconography so you could easily read and understands what different things do from across the board.

I have no faith that I'm getting my pledge for the expansion :(

How about a review of Elf Creek Games and there mistreatment of backers! I imagine Brent wouldn’t sponsor that one!

No comment from Brent in more than a month about delivery of this.

I understand he received very bad messages even threats and thar is unacceptable but being silent is not helping him. It even affect other projects like fall flavors

Well unless something suddenly changes, it doesn't seem like it will. Some US backers got their rewards months ago but then communication was completely cut and it just might be that what copies got out are all that will ever exist. Well some exist in warehouses around the world but if nothing changes, those will probably eventually be destroyed.

This guy (Brent) turned everything into a shit hole. I went all in for Atlantis on this campaign and took a major hit. It's sad to see how poor management and leadership turns a good idea (and company) to pieces.

Do you have knowledge and understanding of what happened that you're blaming him so definitively? Keep in mind, I don't have knowledge that defends your accusation, but I'm curious why you're so certain. The practical reality is that very often in life, things can go south and it doesn't have to be because of absolute mismanagement. 9. Out of 10 businesses fail, it doesn't mean that 9 out of 10 people are incompetent, it means that business is hard. Much harder than people give it credit for until they had to run their own

@@BoardGameCo well, he did not communicate or try to at all, poor resource planning, not acknowledging any blame and trying to make further illusions about a potential delivery once in 2-3 months of absence. Take a look how many sponsored vids he s been doing and how many KS he s backed since the last KS update. The guy enjoys life as we re talking right now, but in the updates he says “I m struggle with mental health..” BS!
