Penix is a 2nd or 3rd round talent as is Bo Nix. Only time will tell what happens but we know from history probably half these QBs will end up being busts

As a Bears fan of over 40 years, I wish that they'd never drafted Mitch but glad they didn't draft Watson. He's not really moved the needle in Cleveland and was out played by Flacco last year. Within the next 2-3 years Cleveland will be desperately seeking his replacement after their Superbowl window has closed. At least in the MT case he didn't bring the off the field drama that Watson did before being traded. Watson will end his career in a similar way as MT will- as a journeyman backup who had a couple of good years (MT had one decent season) but flamed out and never really came close to sniffing a Lombardi trophy.

You know what happened when Atlanta traded Matt Ryan? They spend 3 years looking for a QB. Same thing would’ve happened if a 36 yr old QB coming off of a torn Achilles were to get hurt or start regressing in his play. The backups they had wouldn’t be able to move the needle. They can take an edge the 2nd round

Now people know why the Falcons never win. The fact the GM still has a job this morning is beyond me. Now...maybe they know something...like the fact Cousins will get a 6 game suspension for tampering? But if you want to take a QB...wouldn't it make sense to take one that hasn't had season ending injuries in 4 of 6 years? Talent wise...Penix was the #2 QB on my board behind Nix. i love the pick. primarily bc kirk is no guarantee to be fully healthy and 6 QBs went by pick 12 so he wasn’t gonna be available in the second like everyone thought. be happy that he’s the best passer of the draft and can learn from one of the best passers in the league rn.

If Cousins is getting old and might not stay injury-free then why sign him for that much AND use a top 10 pick as back-up??? A top 10 pick QB should be ready for the league, and even if he isn’t 100% ready you DON’T need a $100 mill. 3 year contracted QB to ease him into the league. The whole thing is stupid
