Brought to you by Xmartial 😅....I had to, you set that up perfectly. I agree with you though, Gabriel is the best out, no question.
Make sure you wash your hand wraps before stringing it up to work on head movement. Everyone you live with will appreciate it 😄

It is called a "sweet science" " thinking man's game" for a reason. There is a whole lot to learn.
That "hair scratching the rope" is such a vivid and practical tip!
Thanks, needed this one. Even someone with a stiff head like me will get better by doing this ❤

Thanks. It's a lot of work but I'm enjoying the sharing. And hopefully it will make the climb to 1M subs not take 10 years 😄
Thank you for posting this video, just happened to come across it. It's very informative and I like that you are very articulate in your explanation. I'm 55 and I just started getting into boxing, I am finding that slipping punches is an overlooked part of building the basic foundation. I watch most guys in the gym working on punches with just an added slip here and there. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge, it is much appreciated. 💪🥊
That’s when the maize ball comes in. I use that as my warm up before I hit the heavy bag. Sometimes I use that alone as my work out.
Fitting that I just got new handwraps today, so now I've got something to do with the old ones 🙂
Just went down the rabbit hole of Gabriel Varga videos for head movement/slipping. All his videos for that now showing on my feed. Lol. 👍🏼
beautiful, this is the drill i'll do from now on, thanks champs !! 3 rounds x 3mins (~100 reps x 3): 1. Slip 2. Slip and move 3. Slip and move and punch (uppercut)
Great video as always also I was wondering if you want could you do a video talking about all your belts behind you and how you won them etc just think itd be cool to hear those stories brother
YessssSssssSsss More on Bobbing and Weaving / Slipping / Dipping / Pulling and all things Head Movement. ✊🏾🧔🏾
Great video, we need one with drills to improve footwork, Cuban style
tnx bro
I need Gabriel to send me that bookshelf with all those belts on it so that I can perform this exercise accurately.
Another awesome video Keep it up brother ♥️🥊

Hey coach can u do a vid on how to train and deal with injuries and still find a way to train with nagging injuries. Ty
This is a really great drill ..and so well taught ...can you show the proper way to pivot and turn and continue in the opposite direction in a future video
Gabriel I am a shorter fighter and the o e who requested how to be a pressure fighter which you fulfilled 2 years ago. Much appreciated, could you do one on how the shorter fighter should roll the punch take an angle, and land a combination? I spar my coach a lot I have begun to realize it is not feasible for me to stand in front of someone of his calibre and try to trade with him head on. But getting low and taking an angle to strike from a safe position is superior.
Amazing 🤩 0:19
Sweet vid 👍 gonna go do that now 😂
Thanks for the routine. I was wondering how can i improve slipping straight shots, ive always found it difficult to execute because slipping side to side without bobbing and weaving puts me in a weaker position. Would like to hear your take on this.
IMO, the highest level of striking is being able to maneuver so that you have clean shots at your opponent and they can't hit you.
I’m starting Muay Thai soon and got my gloves today. I’ve been watching so many videos so that I don’t look like a child when I go to my first class lol
Can we get a how to be less stiff for combat sports? Sometimes I'm too stiff, or not as fluid as I should be

I think shadowboxing to music may help there: something with a walkable / danceable tempo, whatever it is you like that’s fun to really loosen up to. Don’t be too strict with yourself, just bounce and throw to the music - and take breaks to walk where you need them. It helps that most songs aren’t too long and usually have their ups and downs. You’ll also sharpen your sense of rhythm by doing this, and maybe be able to break that rhythm more easily.
hi, gabriel thanks for the amazing tips and drills, do you recommend invest time in doing this slipping or focus more on pull backs and blocks for kickboxing and mma?
When beginners start doing this drill with everything moving, by weaving, punching and moving forward or back simultaneously, even if they have the correct technique, they tend not to emphasize feeling out their body mechanics. So when it comes to a fight they mostly aren't able to hit as hard as they can. The same thing with regular shadowboxing. Which is why practicing just your footwork and feeling out your balance is key. Everything starts from the ground up with a strong base. Then when you start punching, just punch as fast as you can (implying that it can just be very slowly) to feel your balance on your feet intact with the floor, and kinetic chain working from the ground, thats rooted again, from your feet, all the way to the end of your fist.
Super helpful. Are we supposed to visualize the punch coming to either side of the slip line?
Very helpful. I would love to know how you would go about structuring a bag Work session. I only have a heavy bag, no partners yet because I haven't joined a gym. Maybe a session between 60 to 90 minutes. Thank you!

Hi, Gabriel, thanks for the great training video. I was, however, told by my Muay Thai instructor to not bob and weave (Because I could get caught with a kick or knee) and instead just move my head left and right. What is your opinion on that?
Correct me if I am wrong bat it looks to me that you are practicing doing ducking under punches ( for hooks and occasional cross maybe) , not slipping them like for the most straight punches when you just move your head side to side and not ducking under and making that U shape head movement pattern that you are doing in the video? Btw I know that drill is often called "slip line" that could be sometimes misleading

What if he was really high. He can believe it's possible. It might work
Hi Gabriel, i've got a suggestion for a video if you're interested. I really struggle with getting knees off in combinations. When i throw them as single shots, its all okay, but when i try to go jab-cross-hook-knee for instance, i feel like i am out of position for the knee. Maybe you could give some tips and tricks for landing the knees in combinations? Thanks either way
Fighter's w gr8 head movement look like wizards to me
"Head movement! Head movement!"
Hang a double end bag at neck level ( horizontal)and you can practice this while punching the bag
ive been using my "weave line" on my mirror thisll polly help
For some reason he reminds me of Vega from Street Fighter
Thank you for this video. I think they miss the rope on purpose to simulate follow through.
Never fail to teach, even on basics. The amount of growth out of a 10 minute video is priceless. Thanks so much for taking this time, it is greatly appreciated.
Didnt Pacquiao fight Hatton and Mayweather too?

Yes. I guess he told me that before Manny and Floyd fought.
Is this movement improves slipping or rolling?
you have jumpers knee!
Sup Gabriel, aren't you wasting your momentum by hiting after your legs stopped moving? shouldn't you land your punch as you come up before the motion stops so that you punch with the power generated by your legs/body rotation?
This looks like what I have been taught as a "roll". Where a slip is moor of a shoulder towards opposite knee movement. Is my nomenclature incorrect?
Hi gab, can you do what makes Manny Pacquiao so good? It's just fascinating to see pacman broke alot of "boxing rules" but makes them work, thank you:))
Wouldn't this really be rolling? When I slip, say to the right, I more turn my right shoulder slightly down and to the side, so left shoulder coming forward a bit. Takes head just off line. Very fast to counter. I was taught this is rolling, maybe I'm wrong. Love the vids!
Isn't this closer to bobbing and weaving or rolling than to slipping? Still, great drill, I'll definitely be practicing this at home.
Manny Pacquioa fought Floyd and Hatton too.
these exercises work very well against British Tourists That Are asking for a senior discount on the bus
didnt pacquiao fight mayweather and hatton too?
Didnt Pacquiao fight hatton and mayweather?
Pacquiao also fought Hatton and Mayweather
I don’t have any hair 😂
I find it weird that you do the outer and not the inner uppercuts. Inner is much more natural, more on target. Why the outer?
Uh pac man Manny Pacquiao fought Floyd and Hatton also😉!
You teach about ring fights but what about street fights meyby again 5 people (since this is my reality
The only boxer in the world to fight Mayweather and Hatton? What about Pacquiao?
Isn't this a roll, not a slip?
Make some for homeless
have you/your training team ever considered teaching without ever talking and how about lessons in French arabic Russian Spanish and Klingon / best wishes for Spainish Soccer Extremist Summers!!!

Lol no wonder Floyd Mayweather loves defense. Dodging is extremely difficult to attack
Wrong! To improve head movement. You Head-Bang to metal. 2easy.
Teaching head movement but not utilizing yourself.😂
please do some at home drills for defense
