FactsVerse Presents: At 81, Paul McCartney Confesses She Was the Love of His Life.
What does it mean when one of music's most renowned icons declares a woman was the love of his life - 25 years after she passed away? That profound revelation is at the heart of our exclusive video as Paul McCartney marks his 81st birthday with a touching confession about his soulmate Linda. Few living artists have experienced higher highs or lower lows across careers and relationships than McCartney.

But McCartney's most enduring relationship remains his three-decade marriage to his first wife Linda Eastman, the New York photographer who captured his heart and stood loyally by his side until her untimely death from breast cancer in 1998 at just age 56. Even two subsequent marriages later, McCartney still feels Linda's presence and influence profoundly. Now as the legend passes another milestone, he's admitting publicly in an exclusive interview that she was the one who truly defined him.
Why does McCartney feel so compelled to make this soul-baring confession now about his never-forgotten first wife? What did the self-made American woman - so unlike the showbiz types McCartney was used to - mean to him at the height of Beatlemania and beyond? How did their artistic and romantic bond inspire breakthroughs for his songwriting and family life? What indelible impact did losing her have on McCartney and his career? And after rollercoaster flings and rebounds that left his image reeling, why does he credit Linda with anchoring his most meaningful growth into elderhood?
Whether a longtime McCartney fan or newcomer curious about the man beyond the hits, our video offers an intimate look at the profound confession from a pop icon who found his true soulmate in a storybook romance cut short by fate's cruel hand. Even as he continues making history into his ninth decade, McCartney realizes no one ever matched Linda's magic.

I loved Linda McCartney, she was a very down to earth woman who did not give a crap what people thought of her, I loved her photography, I loved her humanity and her love for animals held no bounds it was unconditional. My children and I enjoyed her pasties, sausages, and I still to this day buy Linda McCartneys. I can remember her being diagnosed with breast cancer and thought that she was going to recover she was such a good strong good hearted woman 😢❤

They both Paul & Linda, they wer both creative people. They both had very nice good imaginations. They combined their ideas, and that, that made a perfect match. This is one of the reasons, why Linda was capable to fit into the WINGS. Unlike the other girl friends, or wifes. Yes, and they both liked indipendece - the honest to god given nature - eating / using natural things. And yes, they were indeed, tallented! God rest you in peace LINDA.

@@Jominycrocket0 So was McCartney in being a male whore of which they had that in common as many Men would not want to bring a promiscuous Woman home to Mother yet the Woman gets the brunt of the same sexual behavior a Man does so it appeared he was tolerant of her liaisons as he did say they were both done sowing their oats & it was time to settle down although she did become pregnant prematurely in their relationship but they did conform to Family life & remained married till death did them part & there were no reports of domestic abuse & infidelities so my hat’s are off to them.

You don't always get the opportunity to be with your soulmate, most people settle for being comfortably numb, or tolerating someone they don't like because it makes sense financially. Losing somebody like Linda for him must be still hard to deal with after all this time. You can't fault the guy for trying again, even if he wasn't compatible with Heather. I hope he has found something similar with his current wife. I didn't find my soulmate until I was 51 years old. Thank God I did though. So I can truly understand what Linda meant to him. Lonely as in sexually needy. True to his word in that he was essentially saying, I’ll have sex with others as you’re not there. That’s dog behavior without self control as if a couple has to cling on to each other in order to prevent that as Paul & Linda did-that’s no trust right there if you’re always thinking about sex instead of your girl & the fact that you’re engaged. McCartney even had Peggy Lipton come to see him from afar instead of him coming to see her only for her to find him w/Linda when she arrived. All shenanigans!

What a bloody stupid headline. Why would he 'confess' that Linda was the love of his life? Everyone already knew that. And it isn't as though it's something he would be ashamed of. The word 'confesses' is entirely inappropriate: A better word, in the context, would be 'celebrates' (that she was the love of his life).

@@igzuniga Yoko One was a home wrecker (while she was already married to someone else who she abandoned along with their daughter, as was John Lennon also married and who likewise abandoned his 1st son Julian). She was a talentless poseur, a heartless grifter posing as a performance artist who domineered the weak-minded John Lennon's listless lazy life till the day he died, destroying the Beatles in their wake. She sapped away any creative inspiration he'd had and destroyed any synergy John had with Paul McCartney a creative writing team. None of Lennon's post-Beatles work held up the way his Beatles-era compositions did. Yoko Ono was Lennon's Svengali, his self-anointed Wallis Simpson (a counterpoint to a weak, feckless, irresponsible Edward VIII). When Lennon was murdered, she didn't give 1 cent to Cynthia or Julian Lennon. The cold hearted, uninspired, drugged-up shell of a man that Lennon became after meeting Yoko Ono ended with him willing everything to Yoko Ono. Compare that to the class and the synergy that Paul and Linda had. He had a prolific writing period at least through his Wings years. Starting in 2002, he's been a touring icon for over 20 years belting out the best of his Beatles compositions as well as the best of his Wings material. Paul & Linda raised down to earth, talented children who became their own people. You could argue that Julian Lennon had a brief bout with recording success. Sean Lennon is a leech just like his mother as well as the the heir to the John Lennon estate when the "almost-dead" 90-something y/o Yoko Ono finally dies.

Linda had many things going for her that contributed to Paul’s success. She was an artist in her own right. She understood what Paul needed. Paul was breaking up with Jane and with John… and John being the more significant break of the two. Linda had the maturity to figure out relationships. While I like Jane, I don’t think at the time of the Beatles‘ break-up she had the maturity to navigate those waters. I always had the feeling Linda was the love of his life. Jane might have been more glamorous, but that hardly ever factors in in true love. Linda was a good looking woman, and very smart! I always liked her. Paul’s one huge mistake quite obviously was Heather. Maybe he wanted the pain he felt over Linda‘s passing to ease. But what he got was a bigger pain. While not having Linda around any longer, I believe he now has the married life that he needs: a wonderful companion who doesn’t need to be in the limelight, who understands she doesn’t need to be the love of his life. She’s married to a great man, he’s married to a great woman. They support each other. It’s as good as it gets! I wish them nothing but the best!

When I saw them in March 1993 Adelaide oval it was a magnificent concert. Linda on keyboards there harmonies were wonderful. Beatles songs entwined with wings effortlessly flowing. Drive my car, let me roll it, silly love songs etc. At that stage been married 24years. I'm glad I witnessed this great couple and band together. Extremely sad when Linda died just a few years later. I think that what is meant to be, is meant to be. If two souls are meant to meet, they will meet. Nobody on earth can stop that from happening. That has nothing to do with money and everything to do with the soul. Sadly, I think those with that much money are thrown in an area where people who can't see past money alone tend to harm others both unintentionally and intentionally. I think those who actually need money for physical reasons are not immune to the evil money can create. Yet, some think of them as if they are immune but they too have a soul that can be turned. They just also know what money can buy. In some cases, money can infact help create a normal lifespan but there is a limit to what some souls can look past because money can be taken too far. It all has to do with what the soul itself can take and what is meant to be. Even more sadly, some in society will not see past physical hardships like a missing leg and into the soul of one who has turned making it easier for them to actually harm another. I don't know if they harm meaning to or not but I DO know that Paul was never alone there. Sadly, I'm sure that some can fully relate. Linda will always be his true love though because that was meant to be. Leg or no leg, noone can ever change that fact. What is beyond this world and seriously meant to happen will infact happen, there is absolutely no changing that fact.

(Even John had his "lost weekend", where he strayed from Yoko, eventually shacking up with May Pang. for some time during the earl'y '70s.). Paul later said that the only night that he and Linda ever spent apart during their entire marriage was the night that he spent in jail after the infamous drug bust in Japan.

That’s not how the story goes w/May Pang. Lennon & Ono were not getting along in their marriage so Ono wanted a separation to rest. Knowing Lennon would use prostitutes or be with someone who would hurt Lennon & that was reportedly said by Ono, she approached Pang & asked her to be his escort so Ono was the one who arranged that so Lennon did not just run off & shack up with/Pang but they did end up getting along & had a relationship. Meanwhile, Ono was reportedly having an affair w/Sam Green, an American Art Curator, of whom she expected to marry but he was not interested in marrying her. Linda knew Paul’s track record as after all, he met Linda while he was still with Jane so she clung to him preventing him from having liaisons. For 2 people that liked to sow their oats regularly, I have to hand it to them for remaining together & raising a Family although it’s not normal to not have trust where you always have to keep track of your partner

Paul had a lot of unprotected fun from 1959 to 1969 and never paid the child support due. Bettina Hübers was born in December 1962 in Hamburg. Her mother Erika claimed McCartney asked her to abort the baby and sought alimony at the time. McCartney denied the accusations and also that he was the baby's father. But he did pay her a sum of money. In 1966 the Beatles were about to embark on a European tour. McCartney was informed by the German courts that a matter of maintenance had to be settled before he set foot in Germany. Lawsuits continued until Bettina turned 18. In 1983, she and her mother went to court yet again to ask for maintenance payments. McCartney apparently took a blood test that came back negative. But for some reason, the courts rejected the results and made him pay maintenance anyway. Four years later, working in Berlin as a hairdresser, Bettina lost her court cases on appeal and was liable to pay legal costs of £60,000. McCartney’s lawyer advised Paul to pay it so as not to bankrupt Hübers. The story did not go away but was kept well under the radar in the UK (unlike the Heather Mills divorce). In 2007 Hübers claimed that McCartney sent a stand in to take the paternity test and wanted a new one conducted. She also claimed the signature was a false one in the original 1980s documents and was written by a right handed person. However after further investigations the case was dropped. Bettina looks a lot like her father. Guitar player and singer MICHELLE McCARTNEY celebrated at the Paris's fashionable night club 'Aux Bains Douches' the release of her new musical album MICHELLE, which is going on the stands this month in the U.S. and in most European countries. Michelle was born from a romantic relationship of Paul McCartney and the French aristocrat Monique La Vallier. They were respectively 17 and 15 at the age she was conceived. The artist, who makes her home in Paris, defines her music style as Hard Rock with a backdrop of pounding and trash-bag rhythm that began in Hollywood where she spent the last fifteen years of her life playing in underground bands as a left-hand guitarist (like Paul). Michelle McCartney was born as Michelle Le Vallier in Paris on April 5, 1961 and her birth certificate states that her father is James-Paul McCartney from England. All of her life as a child Michelle grew up ignoring that she was Paul McCartney's daughter. Her mother just used to say, 'You know, Michelle, your father was a very handsome hippy boy I met when I was a teenager. I became pregnant from our short relationship and when I tried to tell him, he was gone and I never saw him again.' Michelle however discovered who her father was when at age 15, she went to pick up her birth certificate and saw her father's name. As she confronted her mother again, Monique was obliged to tell her the truth, and Michelle tried to make contact with her father without success. Back in 1993, when Michelle asked the Los Angeles Court to oblige Paul McCartney to undergo a blood-test that could prove that he is her father, very cleverly Paul slipped out of the U.S. in time not to be served with the legal papers that would have obliged him to pass the test.
