I think he had that special ‘James Bond’ demeanour. I think it’s a great loss that he didn’t play Bond. He had that cool, in control, sort of arrogant English charm that said ‘I’m so much more than you’ about him. He had that ‘presence’ that so suited the role.

The headline across this piece said 'Canceled'. Please, please check your spelling. That is the way Americans spell the word. We spell it with two 'll's': cancelled.

It doesn't take a genius to both appreciate and laugh at this humour while at the same time accepting that we've moved on from this mentality. I observe (some) "political correctness" some might label me "woke" or "snowflake" but most of those people are morons. Get this Daily Mail worshippers: I am "woke" and "politically correct" but can still laugh at this and have a clear conscience. Confused? ...we'll, you would be ;-) RIP Benny Hill. Thumbs up.

He was amazing , he was an excellent singer and could play several musical instruments to a proper standard , particularly the clarinet , talented boxer tradesman serviceman , then went on to be a comedy genius , yet he had the most horrible start in life , which made him as tough as old boots , but developed into one of the most incredibly talented well loved human beings , Incredible ❤

when I was a kid, living in Brixton my mates and I used to look forward to a Norman Wisdom film coming out. He was the only star whose films we'd sit through twice at the cinema. My kids and their kids love him too.

The thing about woke culture is that it will always cannibalize itself. People who are offended by comedy are not victims. They are people who never were able to grow up and/or mature. These people don't need coddling! They need therapy!

I met Benny a few times. Always polite, friendly and so down to earth. I called him Sir once and with a twinkle in his eye he looked at me and said I haven’t had that phone call yet.

You want to know horribly when wrong with the Benny Hill Show? England went woke in the early 80s. He was labeled a sexist. Doctor Who was too violent. The Benny Hill show is a primer or almost every kind of comedy sketch. But as a teen, it was the sexy tv show in the early 80s. Scantily clad dancing women. Only Mexican tv compared in sexy hotness.

There will never be another Benny Hill, he was a funny smart guy. We used to sit around the TV the whole family, the only problem with the Benny hill show, was it was only on once a week, the man was a genius.

Norman used to have a P,A. Who after she retired, moved to a little coastal village in Co Down Northern Ireland called Millisle . Norman apparently used to come and stay there often. My wife's aunt now lives in the bungalow. It's a small world.
