There was a movie called untraceable that had a similar plot but it was a live stream of victims being tortured and potentially dying based off view count on the website the killer created.

Paia or paya or however the hell you spell her name has clearly never heard of Reddit or 4chan 🤣 those guys have solved crimes in minutes, hunted people down on a shoe size through a video feed (edit)in a crowd(edit), and more I'm sure. It's kinda scary actually lol. But what absolute legends. People with that skill could be very dangerous if they wanted to. I respect that they use that for good

At the VERY least you can see IP traffic. Who watched it, WHO POSTED IT, or at least WHERE it was posted from. If it was a phone upload that phone number would belong to SOMEONE. The first 100 people to watch the video would be immediate suspects. And you can trust and believe that platforms like youtube have the power and sometimes DO freeze the view counter. Remember when botting was an issue for the algorithm? KZread Implemented a view freeze feature so they could have EASILY made the traffic of the video DRAMATICALLY slowdown to almost a legitimate believable level to buy authorities more time. Removing the video would just challenge the kidnapper into killing the victim lol.

yes but it was obvious it was a kidnapping. in cases like this, especially men, kidnapping cases are likely to be of revenge to punish and/or admit wrong doing (there are many cases as such). the goal was to make him admit his wrongdoing with the threat of death to force him to admit it whilst publicly shamming him and turning him into a villain that society (specifically the types of people watching the video) would praise/not care about his death thinking he deserved this. hope this explained things :) trust me watch the series on netflix. this review misses alot of small significant plot points that make this whole story a*. and the acting sooooo good

Well... when my parents called cops about our car being about to be stolen cops literally passed thieves driving our car on their way to our place despite knowing licence numbers, color and model. They've never found it (again).
