I got mine at launch. Thankfully I never experienced that looping issue. So far it's been an excellent device! Great battery, smooth display, and a decent headphone jack.

This phone is awesome. I pre ordered mine last year in September but I didn't receive it until October and since that day I haven't put the sim card back to my S22+. Speaker, Battery and Performance is the forte of this phone.

This phone ticks so many boxes really and I was completely sold, it's a perfect fit for what I need (a big fan of ASUS in general too) until I started seeing all the reddit and forum threads. That's somewhat normal now days (unfortunately) and often it's a vocal minority.. but the worrying part is how little ASUS actually respond/care on their own user forums, they seem to pick and choose the easy issues and ignore the many real problems people are reporting on there. I'd say I'm sold on the ZF9 as a product, but now dubious of ASUS and the aftersales support.. where I just don't want to be regretting it if I get issues 6 months later when I can't return it and ASUS don't seem helpful.

J, I'm not digging my upgrade to the s22 very much from my S10e. Do you think I would have a better experience with this phone being a little more compact? Plus, the s22 speakers are really bumming me out big time. I might give this one a go, but otherwise might be forced into a 13 mini

I like it and this is on my shortlist. I make desk top videos (like your video here) so because I am out to get a camera phone, I want to get the best camera for desk videos that I can get. I am torn between this and galaxy s23 ultra for the camera only. Any possibility you could do a desk video recording comparison between the 2? Thanks.

Well the pricing differs, in Germany the 16/256 version will cost around 900-1200€, so at the same level as S22/23 Ultra, you might find may one or two used ones for around 650 but normally the 8/126version is at about 700-850 depending on the colour. I try to get one, because it fits the phone holders in my hiking trousers which don't allow for big phones, but this price is too much.

@@ydtech2649 Asus has the worst software support for flagship phones, even most midrangers are supported longer. Damn shame since the Zenfone 9 itself is a fantastic phone.

T-Mobile and Google Fi, but it’s unlocked to all GSM.

yes the phone is very good I would like to buy it but I changed my mind when I found out it only has 2 years of support and update

No card slot is gonna be deal breaker for video people imho. Maybe there's an otg device to negate that? I think this is great for those who have smaller hands. I personally look for/need 6.5+. I've been spoilt on large displays now! It has band 71 for TMobile people also.

I asked on the forums and supposedly it supports exfat (haven't confirmed myself though) so you could potentially just plug in a USB C flash drive and offload to there quite easily. In the UK it looks like the 256GB version with 16GB RAM is only £50 more too, so I'm definitely considering that version.

Unfortunately it's only usb 2.0 so the transfer speeds are limited to somewhere around 35MB/s.

Only concern I would have is the back wearing over time or getting stained from jeans. Does it seem like it stays clean? But other than that it seems like a great phone. Maybe I will pick one up sometime

That's sort of the point with this phone, the small size. There are tons of phones with huge screens with the same specs you could choose from. It's a great little phone just needs more than 2 years of updates. That's really pitiful. Shame on you Asus.

Besides a device or two that occasionally just didn’t interest me I always messed with asus my favorite. Devices were always the padfone I rocked with those 2 in 1 devices for multiple generations handled 2 needs in one and had the extra battery in the tablet and expandable memory . I wish they had something like that for 2023

From what I gathered from various comments, this phone is kind of a Pixel 7 Mini…and personally, I like that. However I want to be able to remove the google search bar from the home screen and you can’t do that on the Pixel itself. So just to be sure, CAN you remove the google bar from the screen?

This is the worrying part really, it seems like ASUS move on quickly to the next phone. I wonder how the ZF8 is holding up now, did it get all the bugs fixed etc are people still happy with their purchases or regretting it and so on.

Tried to talk the boyfriend into this one. His moto razr 5g is on its way out.
