I owned a laptop with a 300hz screen for a while and to be honest I kind of miss it. Even though there were few titles the laptop cpu was able to hit 300fps in it was SUPER smooth and responsive feeling. I did, oddly, perform more consistently in competitive stuff on the laptop too. I'm seriously considering this for my desktop. So long as you don't give up image quality for the speed (which this doesn't seem to do) I don't see the harm in it.
I been waiting for over 9 months for this monitor to come out and for reviews. At the moment I'm stuck if I want to go for 27" 4k 144HZ or go for this (27" 1440P 360hz). I currently have 27" 1440p 144hz atm and would like to upgrade :) I'm not a compative gamer but I like the idea of playing War Thunder with a very high frame rate as it's not to hard to run that game.

I have a 27inch 4k 144hz panel and compared to my 1440p panel I notice a huge difference in the sharpness and crispness of the images even compared to 32 inch 4k monitors. You just need a beastly GPU to take advantage of the refresh rate. It also depends on how close you actually sit to the screen.

Competitive gaming, shooters? Hz. Single player games, console gaming? Resolution.
Would have been neat to see you go 120, 240, 360 and then back down again - to see if it was just you warming up, or if it was the monitor.
@Malinkadink
Жыл бұрын
Definitely just warming up, nothing scientific about those tests, 120hz to 240hz is a good jump and there will def be a small jump in accuracy but 240hz to 360hz i cant imagine any more than 1000 point difference. He'd need to repeat the test 5 times on each hz to get good numbers.
You're a pro Tom! Great review.
HDMI 2.0 connection can allow for 120fps, but at either 1080p or 1440p so we are good :) HDMI 2.1 connection essentially allows for 120fps at 4K, or 8K at 60fps.
I'd like to see more stuff of color accuracy, response time (G2G), HDR over previous PG27QN, how it performs under G-sync with games running at 90/120fps target. I think it could be a more robust review. Ty!

I got myself a 360Hz 1080P monitor since I do play a fair amount of CSGO and Valorant. After about 45 days I returned the 360Hz monitor and kept using my 1440P 240Hz one. The 360Hz had this feel silky smooth-unreal ish feel to it. which is a nice first time impression, but it didn't make me any better. I switched between my monitors multiple times, even just downgrading the 360Hz in-game to 240Hz and I couldn't feel like I "lost" something. The reason I returned the 360Hz monitor is simply because i didn't want to pay the amount when I had something good at home. The biggest jump we had in competitive gaming history was the jump from 60Hz to 120-144Hz, you can still even see and feel the jump from 144 to 240, but it's neglitible. I am still unable to go back to 144Hz as I'm used to 240, but I didn't feel the same about the 360Hz. You make what you want out of this text.

Nvidia's study doesnt account for the fact that you can simply pull a smaller monitor closer to your face. Obviously its gonna be easier to see targets on a bigger monitor if you keep them at the same distance. Also your score increases on Kovaks was most likely due to you just getting used to it. If you went downward in refresh rates you would've still seen an increase.

@@Thetechchap For a more scientific test you would also want to repeat each probably 5 times and take averages for each. You could also argue you shouldn't be trying to talk while doing the test because it takes part of your focus away from aiming. I don't think you needed to record the testing (maybe one), just the results or a graph/chart comparing the results is fine. Good video otherwise.

I know that increasing the framerate even for work tasks increases productivity and decreases misclicks. 144Hz 1440p monitor upgrade did wonders. But probably my next monitor is going to be 240Hz 4k, because the pixels are bothering me for work stuff and while reading and watching content. And for fast gaming I could still do 1080p 240Hz on 4K monitor with my older GPU without sacrificing blurriness because of non perfect scaling. But it would be interesting to see at which refresh rate we would stop seeing the difference. Probably around 1kHz.

That 144 to 165 was just an example to show you that even small differences can be seen and yeah ur right that its not 100% the same cuz someone can see these small differnces but the eye has its limits and it just stops from that limit. Thing i would like to ask you is where did you get these information. Cuz ive heard this a lot but i have never seen any study for it. I dont know if you play games or not, but gamers are much more sensitive to it than other people. I know that my parents cant even see difference between 60 and 240 and lot of non gamers in my age who just watch movies and stuff like this also in most cases cant tell the difference. But almost every player that came to 360 or even from 360 to 390 said that it is not that big of a differrnce as 144 to 240 obviously, but it is kind of easily noticable. Than can lie but i doubt it.
