Will certainly going for a back conectore in about 1-2 years when this is matured. Was thinking about going for one for my new build but it feels like its not 100% there yet.

Nice video and cinematic as always!... kindda agree with Asus on putting a single cpu fan header there as it is easier and less messy to roll the excess cable around the pump and plug it there (IMO)... well, but at the same time it is kinnda defeat the names BTF tho.

I also thought of having the cables in the back, but back in the day I thought cases would need way more room behind the mobo. Those graphic card power slots remind me of the old vesa boards.

Great overview - would love to see some large water-cooling cases support BTF format. I want a Lian Li V3000 Plus with BTF support and I want ASUS ROG to bring out an AM5 motherboard BTF - then I can do my next build as a BTF water-cooled beast! :)

There is a BTF style AM5 motherboard in China, MSI build the board, and is the only BTF style motherboard I know. Idk if there is the TUF 4070 Ti Super BTF and the 4090D Strix BTF outside China right now.

instead of backside shouldn't these connections be horizontal so that wires don't bend after connecting because normal front connectors wires bend now back connectors wires bend again They should be Laid horizontally on pcb i guess 🤔

I can see back side cables being popular. However... That, ASUS GPU power connector thing i think is going nowhere. Asus i believe trademarked that and only their cards and board use it so. Unless you want to be forever stuck in their ecosystem, no other brand can or will adopt that for GPU's. Brands could just as easily just flip the actual power connector for the GPU to facing the motherboard then do a small cutout in the motherboard for the power cable to go through and plug into the GPU.

I'm torn on these. Potentially you could save money on custom cables and have a clean look but these aren't cheap, and realistically it's yet another mobo type that won't see that much in the way of selection for years if ever. I like mATX but if I want sufficient power phases and I/O ATX boards have a way better selection for similar/lower prices. Also I'd love to see the return of a good Sabretooth or Sabranco. "TUF Gaming" is a pretty sad name.

I'm guessing because even in a white case a black PCP hides your default PSU cables pretty well, it was white on white builds that "needed" help, as you have the extra cost of buying cable extensions the all black setup doesn't need. Maybe that makes this cost effective enough to be a viable product.

At US$400 that motherboard is far too expensive. It needs to be the same price or lower as the ATX board - about £230 / A$440 after taxes in this case. The Asus UK website confusingly has it at both £214 (out of stock) which is fine and £312 (in stock) which is not and UK e-tailers want even more. Second, I'm disappointed that there's no power connector for the other full-sized slot.

Why not put the cpu connector to the bottom, where the psu should be, in the basement, maybe even connect directly to the psu, like legoes. Heat goes up naturally, you dont want anythin at the top, except exhaust, so basement psu is the logical choise.

I'd rather get the MSI board than be married to only Asus GPUs. I like the power delivery on the front for the GPU, but unfortunately since this isn't a standard it's a no from me.
