Astra van ABS light will not switch off (part two)

Faulty front wheel ABS sensor detected, I show a step by step procedure I used to detect and replace the sensor, and due to the sensor and wheel bearing being integrated meant the wheel bearing also had to be replaced.

What a pleasure to watch a real engineer at work. The homemade car lifter is just brilliant, as is the stainless steel splash guard. The light smearing of silicone grease on the electrical interconnector socket is a good tip. I replaced the coil pack on my Ford Focus Ghia some years back, but still had random misfires. Smearing Servisol silicone grease inside all of the spark plug’s rubber boots cured the problem completely. I also use it liberally on the bayonets of outside lamps (lightbulbs) as it rains a lot here in the UK… Hi-Hi Thanks for the videos mate.

It is important that all screws and nuts are tightened to the correct torque. You need to buy a torque wrench.

anyone without mechanical experience should always use a torque wrench, but there are other factors you have to consider, if bolt threads have any oil on them you can over torque them using a torque wrench, if the thread has any rust you can under torque them using a torque wrench, anyone with a lot of experience knows this and can tighten bolts correctly without a torque wrench, a torque wrench will only give the correct torque in most cases when using new bolts which have not been stretched.

@@johnbower Don't use old bolts, always use new ones so you can tighten them to the correct torque. There is a reason they must be tightened to the correct torque. I have worked as a professional auto mechanic for 18 years and additionally 14 years as a teacher in the high school automotive program, so I know what I'm talking about.
