Great video for those with limited tools / garage facilities, and good detail of the steps needed. Will of course be noticeably quicker for those who own ratchet spanners or impact wrenches but I like the traditional DIY approach, very informative. Never underestimate a good heavy duty bench vice. I drove a fair distance many years ago to purchase a genuine used Record No. 5 vice in excellent condition for £45. Worth their weight in gold these days and it weighs a lot! 😅 Great homemade lift accessory and I will be watching your build video for this.

Nice ramp set up , is this an off the shelf thing ? Thanks for video looking into my similar issue also.

Hi John, my ABS light came on when I was driving back from the dentist this morning - as if that wasn't enough for one day! It stays on now when I start the car so I asked my local garage and they will take a look next week when the MOT is due! I've watched your video and can see that it involves quite a lot of work. I'd be interested to know the cost of the spares and what a garage (a trustworthy bloke, so not a main dealer) would likely charge? I'm assuming that it is probably the sensor. My car is the Astra H model (Diesel, from 2004.

not sure what a garage would charge, the cost of a new sensor bearing assemble can differ a lot, stay away from unbranded cheap ones, prices vary from £39.00 to £150.00, I have fitted an unbranded cheap one in the past it only lasted around 1000 miles, the one I fitted in the video was made by SKF bought from good seller on Ebay cost me around £90.00 normal cost is around £120.00, FAG is another good make but costs a bit more.

I have an Astra van h model: 2011 plate. I am on my 4th wheel bearing/ sensor in a year 🫣, driving me crazy, it comes on driving through deep puddles

@stevelinzell4158, I don't understand why that is happening, are you sure it's the sensor giving fault and not a faulty connection in the cable connector that's mounted to a small bracket on the suspension strut, this connector has a silly little black plastic tag that is supposed to lock the connector together, this tag can easily get broken when disconnecting the connector. This little black plastic tag broke when working on mine, it is supposed to slide to one side in order to release the connector then slide back the other way to lock the connector together, so to hold this little tag in the locked position I wedged a small piece of rubber behind it.

Are the wheel speed sensors a common issue on the astra h. Getting same code on astra h twintop

I think the water does not help obviously with all auto electrics, my Corsa van had a similar problem with Speedo located off side front wheel
