We don't know whether there is a V8 in there, the sound could have been dubbed on... he didn't drive it so maybe there isn't even an engine under the hood.

It would have come right after the news with Jezza asking Hamster and Captain Slow if they remembered when Aston Martin first announced the Cygnet then showing a picture. He then would have mentioned that Aston Martin's Q Branch has tinkered with it and the shown us the result with a cut to video where you'd see the car draped in dramatic lighting and smoke with Jezza doing a voiceover listing what they did to it and the spec followed by acouple of minutes of him trying hilariously to get into it and then taking it for a test drive around the track. After talking more about it from inside the car and mentioning how awesome it is to drive and how the noise from the V8 is intoxicating, he'd pull up, get out and talk more about it in which he'd mention how much it cost the owner to get made and tell Aston Martin that they need to make more before going back to the studio. Once back there he, Hammond and May would talk more about it before one of the other two saying they want to see how fast it will go with Jezza then spouting some completely mad facts about The Stig i.e. "Some say yadda yadda. All we know is he's called The Stig." then cut to The Stig setting a lap with Jezza pointing out understeer or oversteer in the corners followed by the follow-through, the second to last corner, Gambon and across the line with a respectful time.

I don't think this thing is gonna be all that fast on the Nürburgring given the fact it weighs just under 1.6 metric tons, makes 430hp and has a high center of grafity causing loads of bodyroll due to its shape.

Kelt Thomas maybe a pug, cause poodles are pretty tall and actually very athletic, sometimes used as hunting dogs.

Quite dangerous to have a bonkers V8 in a car with such a small wheelbase. I'd hate to see it doing a top speed run, it would be like watching a turbo Mini, struggling to maintain a straight line

That's with standard suspension geo, but obviously you can fix this, check out the mini gtr for example, they put full st205 Celica running gear in a mini

A Toyota iQ or whatever you may call it... but what was going through the engineers minds at Aston Martin when they thought that they could just rebadge it and sell it under their own brand name?

The Aston Martin engineering team must have been high when they thought of this.

In bonds garage, Every other bonds car watching this car 😳, and asking: what special do you have for our owner Cygnet: I have V8 engine and cute tho. Other bond cars: WOW 😲

Top gear = Fifth Gear. No tortured Metaphors and no tyre shredding, smoking and bursting into flames.

I thought they built the original Cygnet to keep emissions down (thanks, Top Gear), but now they’ve done a V8? Well done lads! I prefer this to the Brabus Smart, though. Next we need a Supercharged Mugen Honda Jazz!

This is a 1 off car petitioned by a customer who signed he could never sell it and Aston signed saying they would never make another.

Where did I say it was never done before? That Prius is 'cheating' as nothing about the interior was retained, and everything was pushed way back to accommodate the mopar (Hellcat?) drivetrain. It was basically a shell over a chassis. Jay Leno's showcased a lot of interesting cars with interesting swaps. Hellcat engine in a VW Beetle? I'm not familiar with that one, but depending on the year of the VW the concept sounds interesting.

I remember seeing a 500 c.i. Hemi put into a Plymouth Arrow hatchback. This very much reminds me of that....and excites me.

Please get this thing round the track with the Stig.

Just got a look at the Mercury Marine 500R outbound that's a step up from the 450R with the same 64° v8 and I tried in vain to think of a wheeled application with more than 2 wheels yet here it is! I still can't help scratching my head whenever I see a high end outboard motor even though I know it's standing vertically under the engine cover. How does a vertical engine alignment avoid oil starvation?

No it isn't. If it was light then it wouldn't be so slow. That would be a good 0-62mph time if this were 2003, but it isn't. It would be way faster with a 4 cylinder turbo engine.
