Just had corneal crosslinking done in my left eye a week ago. Totally back to normal, no pain . A little blurry but that’s expected

Do you know what it can be of I see everything like my phone screen and all straight line shape objects as if they are falling to the left side like this \ instead of seeing them normal like this | It's been a week I see everything this way plus it hurts a lot to look at anything in front of me except if I am a bit on the left or right side, like my computer screen Is easier to see from a bit of an angel gor example... And it is also feels a bit as fish eye camera instead of eyes... I have broken my glasses a month ago, banded the frame a bit in the middle and everywhere, accidentally sleeping in them. After that sometimes it felt like I looked thru glasses one eye a bit sides, like eyes look a bit diffrent directions. So I banded it a lot. Went to a glasses shop, optometrists all said it was absolutely fine. And then one lens fell out of frame, them put it back saying it's fine, or u can buy new. But it is ok to wear these as well. Then at the end of the month after lots of banding to adjust them both glasses arms broke a bit, so both lenses fell out... I put them back myself, understanding I need new glasses for sure. But while I waited for salary, just one week in these glasses or like 5 days, and now I see everything falling to left side like this \ What can I do?

I've got KC. The special contacts I have to wear are $$$$. Health insurance won't cover any of it. Plus I have to wear glasses on top of the contacts .

I have KC too, my contacts were $500 I can't believe they're not covered. I started out with astigmatism when I was younger which meant I needed glasses to drive. I had a special drivers license bc of it. It's sux bc I can see with lens , but I cannot see when I look at my phone or read a book without glasses.

Mine are covered through insurance, my eye doctor does it as medical necessity.

i have both I believe it’s very difficult difficult to find a doctor that can fit you with specialized contact lenses

Astigmatism: a type of refractive error caused by a misshapen cornea or lens (usually cornea). Usually refers to "regular astigmatism." Almost everyone has a little astigmatism but significant levels can cause glares and halos and blurred vision. Regular astigmatism: a very common type of astigmatism caused by a spherocylindrical shaped cornea. Can be treated with glasses. Usually not associated with a disease. Irregular astigmatism: an uncommon type of astigmatism which is not spherocylindrical. Usually associated with a disease. Usually can't be corrected with glasses as glasses only have spherical and cylindrical power. But rigid contact lenses interact with the tears on the surface of the cornea to correct irregular astigmatism in ways glasses cannot. Keratoconus: a rare, progressive corneal disease that causes an irregular astigmatism shaped like a cone (hence its name). Owing to its progressive nature it can worsen rapidly over time and may even require a corneal transplant in some instances.

I found out I had KC and just gave up and let my eye do what it’s gonna do… I barely use it any more - preferring to close that eye and use my working one instead

My eye doctor won't take me seriously or do more extensive testing because I can pass the letter chart easily. What can I do?

is this regarding keratoconus specifically? if so, ask a cornea specialist (ophthalmology) if you could be a potential candidate for corneal cross linking. if not, they will typically continue to monitor with corneal topography until you become a potential candidate for a corneal transplant. if this is regarding other unrelated symptoms, are you being seen for dilated exams? don't trust the corporate chains that allow you to pay an extra fee for fundus photos when they're inferior to a dilated exam (although they are more convenient).

Can you speak about Hyperopia??

It ot normal my prescription went from -4,25 to -6,00 within a year? Had 2 periods with rapid vision loss (days). But when I checked after the first period, they said my strength was still the same, even though i could clearly see sharper woth -5,00 instead of -4,25

I’ve had PKP in both eyes due to KC. Fun times…

I don't think your filter for astigmatism is really the right one. It doesn't represent light haloing/rays. That's really what astigmatism does and there are good filters out there to show it. It's characteristically different from just generally blurry vision

Doc, I need a help! New contact lens user, unaware I rinsed my lens to wash it with tap water and used it. Now learned not to so. What to do now?

If your eye hurts and shows signs of inflammation, see a doctor immediately. If your eye is fine: don’t do it again!
