ASP - Duett (Das Minneleid der Incubi) [English Lyrics]

Музыка

I BET YOU ALL THOUGHT I STOPPED TRANSLATING, HUH!? WELL, YOU WERE WRONG!
That aside, this is a deceiving little song, with one of the messages cleverly hidden behind the echo of the main singer. Enjoy the song, guys and gals!
I do NOT own the music, nor the lyrics accompanying it, in this video. They are both direct property of ASP and their respective owners.
Please, buy the official album!

German is so beautiful I like my native language's word for "dawn" but "Morgenrot" sounds so incredibly mesmerizing

I know this is a year old comment, but I am curious. What is your native language, if I may ask?

Morgenrot literally means morning red (color of sunrise)

There's a pretty grave mistake in 1:33-1:35. It's not "I bring you AWAY from sorrow" BUT "I bring you MOSTLY sorrow". That changes the meaning drastically. Other than that, thanks a lot I was always looking for a quick translation so I wouldn't have to constantly translate it to people I showed this song to!

Love is sweet sorrow... It protects one from the tragedy of the pit ov despair that sorrow often brings. Some may have dubbed me the lord of sorrows in my past convolutions... (wonders silently to himself whether or not convolution is a real word... But doesnt feel like checking so ill write it off on good faith just hoping It was used in the right context xD)

German/deutsch isnt so cut and dry like english or Japanese /Nihongo. I remember when rammsteins song du hast meant... Well at 1 point in time the english version shed light on the unique facets ov the language . Try asking a german hows th weather for example , its the equivalent of asking them "how are you" only reason i kno is cuz i took a class ov dr barry`s called existentialism and phenomenology and heiddegers being and time in large part can only be understood in the context ov german idealism and in a way serves as a suffix when understanding sein und zeit with dasein , in short a precursor to more difficult even more complex texts and much harder or as dr barry stated more badly translated texts such as the french(and the texts as well)collosus ...for a better word ov the masterpiece titled being and nothingness . The first text being phenomenological und the latter being a pure existentialist text. I couldnt comprehend past 36 pages or so in fact i never did finish it. Dr berry pointed out Emmanuel kants work would be easier to grasp for one trying to understand existentialism . Idk where that book ever went i havent seen it in years and i never recalled losing it or being and time... Perhaps the brevity ov the text was such that ghey kreated rifts in the temporal corporeal world and slipped into another dimension which could contain the... Permutations so to speak, such as forming their own mental-psycho-neural cathexis or nexium via falling into line with respective residing vectors as to not be nihilated by mathematics or the ever degrading pitfalls ov say: regression, matzub, or (may the word save us and as st augustine might reminisce understanding god as being in the wor(l)d) the inevitable chain ov proxies which inevitably ensue in the form ov numbers and formulae which cannot intelligably sustain their own logic and grasp at straws when one attempts to put them into language and so are often reduced to base principles and simplified with anchors(to put it poetically ) and bridges(as though it were a network) such as proxies or as grammar and linguistics would put it: syntax- or in lets say in an effort to salvage grammar and preserve it as a necessary template: the device known as punctuation *akin to a linguistic router imight venture ^

@@Thanatosx33 Relax about it. I was just making a remark on the translation I absolutely get that it's hard to translate especially when context can change the meaning of words.

@Mupyeong the translation at 1:33-1:35 ist almost correct - "... protect you from all sorrow..." so, I don't think there is a great mistake on this part :D

One thing about this translation: it should be 'fly away in the dawn', as in 'during the dawn'. Since dawn is in dative case it would indicate that he is flying away/disappearing while dawn is occuring. If it had been 'und verflieg' in den Morgenrot', then it would be accusative direct action, meaning 'fly away into the dawn'.

Songs, translate word by word not possible. So for me I translate it to " disappear or vanish" at dawn. Egal! Klasse das mal wieder etwas von Deutsch zu Englisch übersetzt wird. Wurd auch mal Zeit ;)

Wow this is simply amazing I love the use of the violin and the vocals were very unique although I'm afraid the hidden message escaped by the way what was up with those adventures of captain sungglesworth I'm all for branching out but that was... odd

@DerxWiedergaenger Yeah, it's sort of the same story for me, too. It seems like ASP songs are either really good (like this one) or just not that great. I'm still not sure how I feel about the band overall, but as long as they have the good songs I'll keep listening to them. Thanks for the translation!

@SxGKilljoy If you want to see the hidden message, read the italisicised text only. It's hidden behind the melodic echo. ; ) The Adventures Of Captain Snugglesworth is just my way of having some fun with my new computer.

@Brommykins Not wrong at all! In fact, yours is the more correct of the two. It should read like this in the video: "Because I can only be with you in your dreams, and I'll fly away in the dawn." Hrm. Not sure why that error got through. I must have uploaded the uncorrected version of the video... =/

@kotyfuckingpoynter I don't think it would be fair of me to say I'm into them. After all, I've only heard a couple songs of theirs. However, what I have heard I really like. This song, for example -- great vocals and a hidden message. How can I NOT like it?
