Kai´sa was anounced to be a Void Champion. Also she is supposed to be infested and was planned to have unique forms of mobility. I was so happy, receiving a new Void Monster, similar to Kha´Zix and Rek´Sai. Something Ferocious. But then only thing i got is, a Top-Model in a tight Rubbersuit, revieling her Breasts and having no battle damage to show her hard life in the void. SUCH A GIANT DISSAPOINTMENT

Please, never shut up about Kai'sa's design. There is no excuse for this becoming her final version, and if Riot wants to create high quality content, they need to step away from character designs like Kai'sa's. Because this is everything but high quality.

As a Kai'sa main, I kind of want her to see basically the same design, but for the suit and her skin to be visibly scarred and damaged, maybe missing an eye, parts of the suit being missing or asymmetric due to one side being damaged or missing some how. I'd also like to see visible changes when she ranks her abilities up, like Kha'zix, another void character with the same gimmick.

I do find it quite annoying that literally all the void champions are either monsters or very tainted humans. While Kai'sa is literally a super model in a latex body suit with perfect hair and make up. Like, her father Kassadin is literally a dude in a towel but it works because he's clearly tainted with purple skin and a freaky mask helmet thing. Kai'sa could literally be a big tiddy thicc ass naked babe with only a few bits here and there to cover things that need to be covered but be very obviously tainted by the void and it would be acceptable. Purple skin, glowing eyes, maybe a grotesque void creature latched unto her skull and spine to connect to her nervous system. Honestly, the Kai'sa we have now could just get purple skin, glowing eyes and maybe the suit blending into her skin and I would find that way better than Blackwidow with two turbines on her back.

I love the idea of a void thing attached to her skull bc it conveys a somewhat horrific form of body hprror. Plus, the void thing could be like something with tentacles so that will retain the silhouette of long thick hair if they want her to appear hot and feminine.

The thing about Kai’sa’s backstory that bothers me is that the Ascended, the Iceborn, the Aspects of Targon, and even Aurelion Sol himself struggle to fight off the Void and usually end up corrupted in the process, but a random 10-year-old girl managed to survive through sheer luck and “force of will”. She can definitely work as a beacon of hope for Runeterra, but it really undercuts the threat posed by the Void if she lasted a decade down there and is none the worse for wear. Also, can we PLEASE stop acting like she is a hideous monster? Her new story is the most frustrating thing because they keep bending over backwards to make a story where Kai’sa can be misinterpreted as evil. There is even a part where her Void skin gets blasted off and she sees her milky thigh underneath, yet she says it looks pale and devoid of life. It kind of reads like those YA novels where the protag is described as “plain”, but is actually a supermodel that all the boys pine over.

Everything about kai'sas story whould have worked if she looked rough and determened, like a doom guy, or female rambo, if she looked like a grizzled female fighter veteran using everything she can to survive, be it the power of void symbiote, and her sheer will to live allowing her to not go mad and fight off the void it would have been so cool, but instead we got super model kai'sa who doesn't fit the story at all

We could have believed that someone so hell bent on survival and got Lucky to get some void pkwers could fight off the void, that someone whos only purpose in life is to fight and to survive, and has weird void thing growing on them will look scary and alien to normal people, but alas, that's not what we got

@@comrad3892 They could have also done the opposite. Make her look malnourished and sickly. More like Kalista in body type. Show how the void symbiont gnaws away at her body. Driving her forward in it's endless hunger to exterminate existence. Behaving like Gut's Berserker armor. Impaling her body and bones to force them to kinda keep working even when broken. Her mind in constant agony barely keeping it from going out of control.

A sol himself struggled against the void really due to him being controlled and the beings of runeterra not understanding his power. A sol is essentially an abstract cosmic god, like marvels entities, the only reason I see him struggling would be against another being like him or someone god-like from the void. And I think as for kai'sa they wanted to go with a symbiote route too, or at least fix her story with something similar to that. They could deep to the point where they can explain how the void she's bonded with actually kept her in shape, they would have to go into a DNA spectrum however. I would have liked a doom look to her character but I personally don't mind her beautiful look.

What's so funny for me about Kai'sa is that in her new short story she angsts about how monsterous she is but she looks... kinda normal? Like everyone is scared of her but she looks so normal it's almost funny..? I kind of dig the story concept but again, she is a very pretty lady who wears a purple body suit and she has wing things. That's it. What are those villagers scared of, then? Like when you read Lissandra's and Sivir's short stories they are described as scarred and battle hardened but they don't look like that... a part of me says people who didn't had a clue about creative things made the choices.

One thing I don't like about Kai'Sa is that you can just forget she is even related to Kassadin, she barely has any interactions with him.

IMO the magic take of healing would be much more interesting if her scars didn't heal as human skin but as void armour. Yes she heals, but with every drop of blood lost, every piece of skin taken away she slowly loses her humanity. Just like TB said - not a defence, just I thought this'd be an interesting spin on her design. What do y'all think?

I feel like if she survived the void and she's the DAUGHTER OF THE VOID, wouldn't she be less humanoid and more... Voidish? Like wouldn't she look more like the other voidlings?

Well if her void has similar properties to venom/symbiote (who are actually the void themselves) then it makes sense, and by the looks of it, it looks like riot was going for a venom marvel thing. She's sort of bond to it no? Hence undergoing symbioses her physical abilties were completely enhanced to a high degree. It would make sense if her voidling, by healing her kept her still in a normal state (the beautiful kai'sa we see here). Where the real "corruption" happens is more than likely inside the DNA itself, like venom and Eddie. If she were truly corrupted she would be straight up a savage and extremely powerful void being at that point, but she isn't. I can see her look make sense and I personally like this look a lot better, they could take it in a very interesting route.

@@Somesom33 So, instead of making her look anything like literally any other Void entity, this Void symbiote only corrupts Kai'sa's physical form in ways that have _no_ visible effects, not even the ones you'd expect from someone's DNA being corrupted (ie mutated) before adolescence kicked in. And you justify this by comparing her to Venom, who apparently had that spike-toothed maw and giant tongue and whatnot when he was just Eddie Brock.

@@timothymclean No, only when she transforms should the void alter her look. Thats something riot should've done instead to satisfy the Fandom who wanted her to look more void like.. They should've given her a maw like venom and the other void creatures when she has her entire suit on. She would've looked badass like that, and as for venom and Eddie the look could change, if its venom and Eddie its more of a savage look but they still have conscious and know what they are doing, but it seems like they made her look more like venom and Thompson where the venom symbiote looks more like kai'sas without a maw. And when I compared her to venom and Eddie I was talking about to a DNA level of small where the physical attributes get enhanced but Eddie physically doesn't change at all when he doesn't call upon venom. Only when him and venom are ready to fight. When Eddie doesn't have venoms face, eddies face isn't altered at all. The only time we would see kai'sa herself would be when she first met the voidling and it started to bond with her. Shit look at toxin and the guy he bonded with, there's no maw at all only claws, thats because he taught that symbiote (toxin) the "human" ways. Riot could go with a story like that with her voidling. Two different universes but the void in just about any game are usually mindless or just savage creatures. Obviously it would be a different situation with Kai'sa as she was trapped in the void, no? They would also need to explain how she really survived as a child while trying to fight and live alongside her voidling

To be fair, current doom guy doesn't look all that unattractive I mean he isn't Taric.. but, maybe coulda made her a lot more muscular, and a bit rougher around the face, with some dreads, and add a little Venom-like (Vemon from marvel) nature to that suit to add the terrifying aspect to it.

Honestly the least they could’ve done was keep the helmet on, that way it’d be left to our imagination as to what Kaisa looks like under the helmet and they wouldn’t need to change the model or design much.

If the symbiote 'healed' Kai'sa, I think it would be cool for those 'scars' to be visibly Void, to tie into her losing her humanity. Coupled with what I know about her gameplay (I don't play LoL, but I think she rushes into the fray as a squishier character), that could reveal something interesting about her character: she is a martyr, suffering so that others do not need to suffer, sacrificing her humanity to save humanity at large. The more one thinks of it, more missed opportunities Kai'sa represents

Not just TFT but a lot of skin summoner icons and emotes of female characters end up looking similar. So similar that fans speculate who the emote or icon even is like with the Psyops Kayle emote which a lot of people thought was MF.

Just some armor asymmetry would have done a lot of the work for this. Dropping the absurd cleavage and such would help too. If they wanted to have a splash with her helmet off they really needed to put her in a non combat scene. Also goshdang, just make the torso armor break up the lady form a bit, that's all it needs at the most basic level.

So you mentioned at the end that, were you to do another one of these, it would be for Ashe. She's at least defensible as the product of an amateur team creating their first real video game with minimal prior experience, and the same argument can be had for Nidalee. However, now it's 2020, and that small, amateur team has grown into the professional team behind the single largest online multiplayer game in the world. There is no excuse for Kai'Sa having bad character design.

I never grow tired of hearing why Kai Sa is a failur of character design. Riot can save this by labeling the classic skin a more post lore kai sa where she came to tame her apparence, and may be (not likely happening) a skin that shows a lore friendly figure.

Gotta get that Booby armor to make sure people know that a character is female, and that she has perfect breasts or something. One of my fav things about Dragon Age Inquisition is how two of your party members talk about how unpractical and dumb booby armor is, and I feel like we should make some Character designers at Riot listen to that conversation on repeat.

Ok this is now one of my favorite videos of you xD mostly because of the topic tho. I already love your voice in your usual videos and here it sounded weirdly strained somehow. And you staying calm the whole vid was... Asmr Tb skyen is something I could get used to

Unfortunately I find Kai'sa the beginning of the end of Riot's creative integrity. As in, the start of their modern day champ design philosophy that's they've been sticking with til now: Just make the character look hot, make them look cute, or make them look 'cool'. Kaisa, Qiyana, Sett, Aphelios, Neeko... it's all targeted, literally, for mass appeal and that's it. It's so weird. You look at some of the concept art for Sett, Kaisa and Lillia and you can see that rito still has plenty of creativity, they literally just choose to go for a 'safer' design to maximize appeal. I don't actually know the reason why it's just kinda lame. As you said I like cute/cool/hot champs but man I miss the variety League used to have.

I loved this, though i forgot i was hearing an ASMR video, just really enjoyed his calm voice. Would love to see more of this! (And more ranting, completely agree with everything he said!)

your soft quiet voice is very soothing, and the roasting of bad design is my jam. I could sleep soundly while listening to this audio if I didn’t require earplugs.

Kai'sa is still one of my favorite characters, but this is a sobering and true assessment of her... Maybe someday we'll get a skin (or a visual redo?) that will show the real toll of living in the Void

I like the idea of a healing factor but since it's a void creature providing it which only knows how to consume and doesn't understand human anatomy it either leaves her disfigured or replaces the damage with void "enhancements"

I'll have you know that it was directly as a result of your original video that I went and bought and learnt and blinged out Kaisa on my League account. It was precisely for all the reasons you ranted about that I fell in love with her design (she's a bit hard to use in the current meta). And you know what? I have no idea why there's such a discrepancy between our responses. Maybe I'm a bad person for liking the pinup-ish nature of her design (It calls to mind the works of artists such as Boris Vallejo who produced a prodigious amount of oil paintings depicting supermodels in "barbarian"-esque scraps of fur) but I think a better question to ask is why such contrasting elements (beautiful woman in "savage" setting and getup) hold such appeal in our deeper psyches. Then again, I'd think that the badassery of a woman who not only survived such an environment but found the time and space to look *this* good is rather plain to see. But that's just my opinion.

Usually I'm not able to listen to asmr-videos more than for a few seconds because somehow it feels just... awkward... This however did not trigger this "shame"-reaction. Maybe because it is not as much directed at the viewer as most of the asmr-stuff I stumbled upon from time to time but more.... talking about a topic. Anyway - your voice in general is very calming, even in normal videos, but especially in this one. I have no idea about this asmr-tringle-trigger-stuff, but I think you did great anyway! Hope you're having a wonderful day! :)

On that note of scars and whatnot, I think it would have been cool if she had a scar across one side of her face and over her eye, and maybe one of her eyes could have been purple and void-y. And more like veiny void stuff in her skin, maybe on her neck/chest or something to show that she truly is being consumed you know? I love kai’sa, she’s one of my mains but I do agree she could look a lot cooler/creepier.

Like you said, I wouldn't mind her design style if she showed battle scars or looked more battle hardened. To put it short, she looks like someone wearing a sexy cosplay of the real Kai'sa.
