Here, I’m using the slit lamp machine to check the health of a patient's eyes. Let's hope it generates some ASMR. The slit lamp is heavily utilised in the optical field, especially amongst ophthalmologists.

What is ASMR? According to Wikipedia:
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), sometimes auto sensory meridian response, is a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. A pleasant form of paresthesia, it has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia and may overlap with frisson.
ASMR signifies the subjective experience of "low-grade euphoria" characterized by "a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin". It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control.

Don't know if it's too personal for your comfort, but I would love to see a video someday about how you first got into optometry as well as ASMR. I think the two are often connected for a lot of people, and visiting the optometrist as a child was certainly one of my first ASMR experiences. I loved going there to see this little old man with his ancient looking metal optometrist equipment. Unfortunately he eventually lost his license due to malpractice for some reason and now with my current optometrist all I have to do is sit behind this giant machine for a couple of minutes and then I'm finished. Thankfully we can relive a bit of the more personalized experience with your videos and I'd love to hear a bit about your personal journey to becoming an optometrist since I think many of us find it a fascinating subject!

Great comment and suggestion. It’s a shame appointments seem to be this way. I guess it’s all about speed and numbers at some establishments. My story is fairly brief and non exciting as to how I got into optometry & ASMR

@@SRPASMR Thankyou. Yes already positive. Teaching full time as a drama and film and tv teacher, whilst making films with my production company. So I am doing what I live so everyday is positive.
As relaxing as the video is from this point of view, I know how much agony I feel when doing this and im extra relaxed in knowing i dont have to do it again for months

I like his voice, I listen to these usually on my late night walk, Benefits of youtube premium is downloading for offline viewing or listening in the background, I use bluetooth headphones, and I have to tuck my phone close to my body, so it doesn't freeze as we are just sorta getting over a low cold deepfreeze, my last walk was in -46 Celsius, tonight its only -29 Celsius. gotta love canada. oh Happy New Year as well to you. eh ok, thats all for now until your next video. ✌✌😎😎❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Right at the 3:00 minute mark is were my neuro ophthalmologist starts telling me to breathe normally. While watching this I subconsciously started holding my breath. I'll just listen to his voice... 😔
