As someone with ADHD I absolutely love this. The typical ADHD asmr I see is “here’s asmr but fast and we talk to you like a kid”, and I hate it. ADHD isn’t just “brrr brain move fast”, it’s so much more. And everyone experiences ADHD differently. This video is a great example of asmr for neurodivergent people done right. It’s reassuring and actually understanding the depth of everything. And most importantly not treating everyone with ADHD like some hyperactive kid who cant focus. Amazing video, keep it up!! ❤

Agreed! I have inattentive type adhd and the super fast ASMR gives me anxiety. I like consistency and predictability without it dragging on for ages, so I tend to enjoy story or scenario-driven ASMR and then I listen to something longer when I'm trying to distract my brain while doing other stuff.

I was talking with this person about my new ADHD diagnosis and she said "ADHD is so fun! Congrats!" She wasn't being ironic or sarcastic, she really meant it, and it kind of made me mad/upset/confused. Because my ADHD is not fun. All the emotions you described in this vid, especially the overwhelmed, project-starting workaholic part of ADHD, make my everyday life super stressful and I hate it. I can't get medicated for it currently because my college city has a tight hold on stimulants (🙄🙄) so my symptoms have been a lot worse too. I'm really glad for these videos because they help me destress and feel less alone. Thank u

That person seems not too educated on neurodiversity. There is a reason we need help 😬😬 Also that sucks so much that you aren't allowed medication when your daily life could be easier 😔 Is there something that you can do about that? I mean reaching out to a resource who would speak out for you? Or if you get your doctor to send some kind of message how you really need the medication to function and learn better? I hope everything works out for you!

Hey! I was diagnosed with ADHD a while ago, idk how long you’ve known you’ve had ADHD or if any of this advise is valid, lol, but some things that help me is chewing gum and small fidgets like pencil toppers and squish balls. Just having something in my hands(or even just folding them) help me keep my focus and calm my mind a bit. Again idk if anything like this will help ya but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to give my advice🤷🏽‍♀️

Did you know that your brain effectively has two modes: Task Active (TA) and Resting. In neurotypical people, when one is active, the other is suppressed. ADHD occurs when that suppression does not occur. Which is why many people with ADHD are constantly listening to music or multitasking.

I don’t know if anyone’s still interested but here ya go. I’ve been interested in this topic for quite a while seeing as both I and my twin have adhd but express it in opposite ways. Essentially, the brain is constantly active- just at varying levels. What adhd does is it causes different functions in your brain to start up or stop out of sync with others, leading to “bad” multitasking (aka not focusing, being unable to learn things given to you over a slow, extended period of time, heightened stress, trouble following directions, etc.) Castellanos has an article on this subject for the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, “Patterns of activity in the ‘resting brain’ shed light on adhd” & there’s an article from the National Library of Medicine, “Resting-state brain variability in youth with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder” which is helpful as well. Both of these, and most of what I know, is connected to the resting-state, not this idea of two stages operating at the same time. I could be wrong, of course, but the human brain doesn’t really have two distinct modes of brain activity like that- it would be difficult to operate if your brain needs to suppress half of itself just to focus on a certain task.

As a person with ADHD and is on the autistic spectrum, this was so satisfying to listen to. A lot of the things here were so on point for how my brain works. List's of thoughts: ● Thoughts of sweets/sugar. Yep that's me, always need to have some form of chocolate. ●Thoughts of the online shopping wishlists. Yes, 100%, mostly cause I don't shop online but can't help but look at all the cool things they have. ●Random information that I've learned due to special interests. Yes, though it doesn't help that my special interests go from one to another and then back again and no one ever likes to listen to them. ●Thought of painting my room. HA! I've already did that one, so I don't need to worry until I move into a new place. ●Thoughts placed upon me by my mom....Yeeeaaaa, enough said on that. Let's just say, I'm working on removing those. And so many other thoughts.

One of the best ones yet, usually I put on asmr and do something else, but this was captivating that when I tried to do something, I came right back and sat through it all (and I bet you know that’s no joke!!). The brain gunk felt so personalized to me, and the advice with letting go creative projects we can no longer care for made me tear up, and then you hit me with the MOMMY ISSUES. Astounding asmr, I feel lifted and inspired and calm :3

It's so satisfying to watch you declutter my ADHD brain 😍I agree, most "ASMR for ADHD" videos are the exact opposite of what I'm looking for. I use ASMR to help _stop_ my brain switching tracks every thirty seconds, not encourage it. Your method is much better. Thank you!!

ADHD is different to what a lot of people think, its not just running around the room like we chugged a hundred Monster Energy drinks, its more so constant overthinking and needing outside stimulants (not talking like coffee, more so stuff we enjoy). I loved this video and really did help clear my head a bit, thanks ♥

Honestly I was a little hesitant when I clicked on this, but seeing a video like this that’s actually respectful of ADHD is pretty cool. I have ADHD and it *truly* is a disability. It impacts every single aspect of my life. And often I feel like “adhd asmr” videos are kind of disrespectful and riding of a trend, you know? Like “oh here’s a packed, fast paced video, also lemme put ADHD in the title”. It’s not,,,,,, it’s not a trend. It’s not a genre of video. It’s hard. It’s a real thing that people struggle with…… so I appreciate an adhd asmr video that’s more like, thoughtful? I suppose? I don’t know, I might just be overreacting. But I guess I just find it nice that my brain is validated instead of stereotyped. Thanks for this

Not overreacting at all! It can be hurtful when something you suffer from is being used as a trend like it's nothing 😑

Im viewing each of the objects in our “mind” as hyperfixations that are too overwhelming and either have been archived or are constantly ongoing/reoccurring, which causes too much clutter in our brain. this makes me feel like all that is being cleaned out and it’s good
