And then the magazine fires you and hires someone with experience if they have to pay the person. I'm all for paying interns, but with college degrees being worth very little and most jobs wanting you to somehow have at least 3 years of experience, you kinda need to do what you have to do for that experience. I wish we could go back to the guild/master system. No or very little college then you apprentice at whatever job you want to do for a few years and then you are qualified to do that job yourself.

i love the instant pause in the anger to be like woah thats not right you deserve to be paid 😭 definitely made me laugh because she’s right‼️ interns deserve compensation

​@@isabellp.5730I don't like unpaid internships, but they just wouldn't hire college students/fresh college grads otherwise. If they had to pay us, they'd just pay for someone with experience. And with all jobs wanting you to somehow have at least 3 years of experience and not really caring about college degrees, you REALLY need that experience. Ideally the internship should be teaching you how to do the job and be like a college class you aren't paying for.

Been feeling low recently, so this is perfect for me. Despite how silly ASMR can be a lot of the time it can also be very valuable to myself and others. I'm glad content like this exists.

Especially since she clearly loves you, and is rude without being hostile. Like, her standards are high enough she's a labor rights supporter who wants ALL interns paid whether they're under her or not.

Be that person for yourself. Nobody else will be like that for you all the time except for, well, you. It's way healthier and safer to rely on yourself than on the others in things like that. Stop waiting for a magical treatment, create it yourself or it'll never come

If person isn't able to do it himself/herself, outsourcing these things to the partner or friend will drown them sooner or later. You need to be able to stand up for yourself in the first place so losing that from partner or friend won't bury you down.

@@dnl75 of course, I think it's because we both agree it's a matter of balance, and if you don't have high self esteem you might exhaust your partner because they'll try to complete something that you have to work on yourself. But a group of ppl treating you well will offer you a path to do so and treat yourself right too (that was my thought anyway because you never know what caused the person to have low self esteem in the first place :))
