Ask Me Anything: Sadhguru

Ғылым және технология

Sadhguru responds to questions at the Global Landscapes Forum, Bonn, 19 December 2017.
A conversation with Sadhguru, a yogi and mystic who founded the Isha Foundation. The foundation focuses on human wellbeing and has over nine million volunteers. Sadhguru discusses various projects, such as Green Hands, aimed at tree planting, and Action for Rural Rejuvenation, which focuses on revitalizing rural communities. He emphasizes the importance of inner transformation and personal wellbeing. Sadhguru explains the concept of inner engineering and highlights the need for individuals to take control of their own happiness and experiences. He discusses the causes of suffering in the world and suggests that investing in the inner wellbeing of individuals can help alleviate it. Sadhguru also addresses selfishness and advises individuals to genuinely care for themselves, which will naturally extend to caring for others. He encourages people to start movements by being aware of the kind of people they are working with and focusing on their own inner growth.

Sadhguru is a phenomenon. Living for soooo long on this earth , we the children of Adam, have forgotten to maintain the SENSE of our own ‘ SELF ‘ and Of our Mother Nature. We are lost in cast, creed and religion in developing areas. Developed country citizens are lost in technologies and there manifestations. The amount of ‘adami’ has reduced in us to a minimal level. Sadhguru is calling us back......back to become a full human. Once human, we may then look into other matters as and when the need will arise. BUT I do wonder why only ONE Sadhguru is there. Apparently He is rarest of the rarest of his own kind.

I knew what Sadhguru's answer to the first question would be, I've always observed that people in the west do yoga to tone up their bodies, achieve flexibility, inner peace etc. but Indians developed yoga for a whole different reason and that reason needs to be understood thoroughly before one begins yoga. It's just like when we try to practice ancient Chinese martial arts or tai chi etc. we just look at the physical or the "perceived" mental and spiritual aspect of it, however, only someone of local origin can explain the true dynamics of it for us to be able to achieve its full potential.

IndoWestAsian Music Exactly Yoga is one part of Yogic teaching. If you aware of Baba Ramdev. He teach the posture and different kriya of Yoga physical aspect of Yog. Sadh Guru elaborate more spiritual faculty of Yog, So in short if you more into wellbeing on physical self, Baba Ramdev you need to follow. But if you more into holistic approach and wellbeing of yourself not in physical terms but combined with spiritual upbringing and awakening of mind and spirit to the fullest then Sadhguru is way to go.

I got pissed off by her first question, 'what is your favourite yoga pose?'. Seriously? You call yourself a meditator and yoga teacher sitting in front of an actual yogi and ask such a silly question? I think western people treat yoga as nothing but some physical exercise that it. Because it's not inherent in their culture to think about anything through spiritual perspective. For which I don't blame them. But atleast someone who call themselves a 'yoga teacher' should have done a simple thing, knowing the meaning of word 'yoga' that's it. Not in some English dictionary but from someone who has done yoga for the time longer than just to earn those useless certificates.

This lady yes. But i know of thousands of westerners who are too damn good in yoga and more, much more than many of us in india. The thing with westerners is, once they put their eyes into something, they go on to beat most of the others in anything, they go on to be the best at it. At the least, i get more angry at the east sometimes cos we brag about our culture and yet go on to do the worst things in daily life (they do it too but they dont brag that they are culturally the best ) But yeah, this lady was shockingly bad, can understand your disappointment.

See , the Earth is not going to be the sole place human will stay in . Populace of Humans and extension of technology including forestry and rivers initiation to places where rivers were not , previously , can make human a carrier of life to where his attention goes . Just like a bee carries it's nectar to where it builds it's abode .

I think you didn’t understand what Sadguru meant , what he is saying that if you don’t believe in controlling birth then why try to control death? , why go to a hospital or medicate yourself back to health when you are sick ? Let nature take care of it then? Earlier when there was no proper medical facilities then the death rate was high and life expectancy was very low , so the population was in check , nature managed that , but today people go under ventilation for survival even at worst cases then what is the problem you take charge of birth too. Right now there is only one earth for us and we need to share it with other creatures and creations too.

I would say over 95% of the population rely on external stimulations to give them the correct thoughts to produce the 'good' hormones in our brain resulting in happiness or bliss... but please realise external stimulations are not needed, once you realise who you really are and have a detachment from ego - it is not hard nor easy to live in bliss - it just is. :)
