For a non Arab person if you choose to learn Arabic you will have to learn all three forms of the characters of their letters because it is shaped different depending on their position, 1st, middle, and last, and you have to train your brain to read right to left and this will take some time to do! And the books open the opposite way because of the writing so you start from what we call the back of the turn the pages to the right instead of the left! I love the Arabic language it's a beautiful language written and I taught myself to write Arabic calligraphy so I write in many different styles.

Not to mention, Moroccans are very intelligent their dialect Darija can be understood by only them that is how they were able to beat the Algerians they were clever enough to know that if they speak regular Arabic or French the Algerians would understand but since Darija has so many sub dialects depending on the region even they can't understand Darija spoken by the Rif people. Many Moroccans can speak FusHaa, French, Spanish, Darija they are very clever people out of all the North African I have a fondness for them, and they are beautiful and they Moroccans that are not Arab speak Tamazight which is incorporated into the Arabic. One of the reasons it's hard because there are sounds in the language that doesn't exist in most languages like "ح" in English they replace it with "h" even though it's completely different And "خ" to "kh" etc so if you are native English for example your mouth/tongue is not used to these sounds so it's difficult

It's not that Arabic is hard per se, but there are things you need to know in order to understand others, In North Africa the alif is pronounced like similar eh, and they pronounce the q except for in Egypt where the qaf is replaced with alif, depending where it falls in the word. Pretty much every can read and understand classical Arabic because of the Quran. But when learning Arabic it's like learning 2 languages, Classical Arabic or Fushaa, and a dialect from a region either Egyptian, Shaami, or Gulf Arabic (Khaliji) Gulf Arabic they pronounce their alif like a short a like ah. Since Egyptian is the most spoken dialect of all Arabic and they have less tenses to conjugate in verbs it's easier to learn Egyptian. No, offense to anyone I love Morocco, the people, food and the country, but their dialect is completely different and is a hodgpodge of many languages combined in their Arabic called Darija. Since I speak Arabic High Intermediate, and French Intermediate, if I don't know the word in Arabic I can combine French and Arabic and they will understand you perfectly. Unless you are going to live and work in Morocco then you should learn it, but for vacation purposes it's not necessary that you learn their dialect it is only useful in Morocco anyway. But Moroccans do understand Fushaa, and Egyptian, and Shaami but they just don't understand Moroccans.

when you learn Arabic you learn 2 languages basically, the standard classic Arabic called "Alfusha" and one dialect (or more if you'd like), everyone understands classic Arabic since for the most part it's the only written form of Arabic the dialects are mostly spoken, so like if you pick up a newspaper or see a road sign in any Arabic country you'll find it written in classic Arabic but the people will speak in certain dialect, most people choose the Egyptian dialect, it not really easier but it is more widely understood thanks to Egyptian media being very popular, I would not recommend Moroccan Arabic unless you like a challenge since the Moroccan dialect incorporates more worlds from other languages, it's not a problem for Moroccans since most of them speak 3 to 4 languages from an early age, but for a native English speaker it might be hard unless you know French or Spanish, hope this helped
